Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Roux-en-Y or Billroth II Reconstruction After Radical Distal Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial.
The aim of the study was to compare the clinical symptoms between Billroth II (B-II) and Roux-en-Y (R-Y) reconstruction after distal subtotal gastrectomy (DG) for gastric cancer. ⋯ Although BII is associated with a higher incidence of heartburn symptom and higher median endoscopic grade for gastritis, BII and RY are similar in terms of overall GI symptom score and nutritional status at 1 year after distal gastrectomy.

Anti-TNF Therapy Is Associated With an Increased Risk of Postoperative Morbidity After Surgery for Ileocolonic Crohn Disease: Results of a Prospective Nationwide Cohort.
To determine the risk factors of morbidity after surgery for ileocolonic Crohn disease (CD). ⋯ Preoperative anti-TNF therapy is associated with a higher risk of morbidity after surgery for ileocolonic CD. This information should be considered in the surgical management of these patients, particularly with regard to the preoperative preparation and indication of temporary defunctioning stoma.

Tumor-infiltrating Neutrophils is Prognostic and Predictive For Postoperative Adjuvant Chemotherapy Benefit in Patients With Gastric Cancer.
This study was aimed to investigate the prognostic value of tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) and to generate a predictive model to refine postoperative risk stratification system for patients with gastric cancer. ⋯ TIN in gastric cancer was identified as an independent prognostic factor, which could be incorporated into standard TNM staging system to refine risk stratification and predict for overall survival benefit from postoperative chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer.
