Impact of Oral Immunonutrition on Postoperative Morbidity in Digestive Oncologic Surgery: A Nation-Wide Cohort Study.
The objective of the present study was to assess the effect of preoperative immunonutrition on a nationwide scale. ⋯ The preoperative use of immunonutrition before major oncologic digestive surgery was not associated with any significant difference in morbidity or mortality. However, the LOS was significantly shorter in the IN-group.

To compare postdischarge rates of organ space infections (OSI) in children with complicated appendicitis between those receiving and not receiving oral antibiotics (OA) following discharge. ⋯ Use of oral antibiotics following discharge may decrease organ space infections in children with complicated appendicitis, and those presenting with high-severity disease may be most likely to benefit.

The aim of this study was to describe laparoscopic anatomical parenchymal sparing liver resections for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) and report the short-term outcomes. ⋯ A precise preoperative planning and a standardized surgical technique allow to pursue the oncological quality of AR enhancing the safety of the parenchyma sparing principle, reducing surgical stress through a laparoscopic approach.
