Cost-Effectiveness of Restrictive Strategy Versus Usual Care for Cholecystectomy in Patients With Gallstones and Abdominal Pain (SECURE-Trial).
To perform a cost-effectiveness analysis of restrictive strategy versus usual care in patients with gallstones and abdominal pain. ⋯ A restrictive selection strategy for cholecystectomy saves €162 compared to usual care, but results in fewer pain-free patients. The incremental cost per pain-free patient are savings of €4563 per pain-free patient lost. The higher societal willingness to pay for 1 extra pain-free patient, the lower the probability that the restrictive strategy will be cost-effective.

The Efficacy of Liposomal Bupivacaine On Postoperative Pain Following Abdominal Wall Reconstruction: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial.
To study the efficacy of liposomal bupivacaine on postoperative opioid requirement and pain following abdominal wall reconstruction. ⋯ There are no apparent clinical benefits to using liposomal bupivacaine transversus abdominis plane block when compared with simple bupivacaine and placebo for open abdominal wall reconstruction.

Moderate to Severe Soft Tissue Diabetic Foot Infections: A Randomized, Controlled, Pilot Trial of Post-Debridement Antibiotic Treatment for 10 versus 20 days.
The optimal duration of antibiotic therapy for soft-tissue infections of the diabetic foot remains unknown. ⋯ In this randomized, controlled pilot trial, post-debridement antibiotic therapy for soft tissue DFI for 10 days gave similar (and non-inferior) rates of remission and AEs to 20 days. A larger confirmatory trial is under way.
