Comparison of Videothoracoscopy and Thoracotomy in Surgical Treatment of Pulmonary Hydatid Cyst Disease.
To evaluate the outcomes of videothoracoscopic and open surgeries for pulmonary hydatid cysts. ⋯ Videothoracoscopic removal of pulmonary hydatid cyst is a safe and advantageous procedure comparing to thoracotomy. Case ReportsNovel Genetic Variant of Ataxia Telangiectasia Presenting with Necrotising Pneumonia and Bronchopleural Fistulae at the Age of 4 Years.
Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T) is a genetically inherited disease, which is transmitted as an autosomal recessive disorder. There is a high incidence of consanguineous marriages in our area, so we believe that A-T may have higher incidence. ⋯ She presented with necrotising pneumonia complicated by bronchopleural fistulae. She was treated successfully with antimicrobials and intravenous immunoglobulins and other supportive measures without surgical intervention. Observational StudyCorrelation of Lung Ultrasound and Computed Tomography Findings in COVID-19 Pneumonia.
To evaluate the laboratory confirmed COVID-19 pneumonia and correlate the findings obtained by thorax ultrasound (USG) and thorax computed tomography (CT). ⋯ Ultrasound has several advantages including no ionizing radiation exposure for health care workers, being a safe, fast and non-invasive diagnostic technique with bedside usage. Hence, ultrasound is an efficient alternative to diagnosis and monitor of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia. Key Words: COVID-19, Lung ultrasound, Pneumonia, RRT-PCR.
