Meta AnalysisEfficacy of Standardised Treatments Combined with Ubenimex in Patients with Malignant Tumors.
Ubenimex is widely used as an immunomodulator in the treatment of leukemia and non-small cell lung cancer to improve the anti-tumor treatment effect. However, there has not been any multicenter randomised controlled trials to study its impact on the prognosis of cancer patients. The authors aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to initially study these issues. ⋯ Between the ubenimex group and the control group, the 1-year OR was 1.40 (95% CI = 1.06 to 1.85), the 2-year OR was 1.43 (95% CI = 1.08 to 1.89) and the 3-year OR was 1.39 (95% CI = 1.07 to 1.81). Standardised treatments combined with ubenimex may improve the survival rate of patients with malignant tumors. Key Words: Malignant tumors, Ubenimex, Randomised controlled trials, Meta-analysis.

Observational StudyRenal Allograft Biopsy Findings in Live-related Renal Transplant Recipients.
To determine the pattern of histopathology in living-related, kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) from a transplant centre in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. ⋯ Among the studied specimens, mixed lesions were the predominant findings, followed by others (mostly CNI toxicity) and IFTA categories. The frequency of acute/active rejections was low and that of chronic changes higher, in keeping with delayed biopsies. Key Words: Allograft biopsy, Graft dysfunction, Rejection, Kidney.

Observational StudyFactors Affecting Cervical Lymph Node Suppuration in Oropharyngeal Tularemia Cases.
To determine the factors associated with cervical lymph node suppuration in oropharyngeal tularemia. ⋯ In order to prevent suppurative lymphadenitis in oropharyngeal tularemia, it is advisable to start appropriate antimicrobials within 14 days after the appearance of symptoms. Key Words: Oropharyngeal tularemia, Cervical lymph node suppuration, Antibiotic initiation time.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of Efficacy of Teriparatide (Parathyroid Hormone 1-34) Alone and in Combination with Zoledronic Acid for Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women.
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of teriparatide (parathyroid hormone 1-34) alone and in combination with zoledronic acid (ZA) for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Ninety-six patients were randomly equally divided into Groups A (n=48) and B (n=48). Group A was given parathyroid hormone 1-34 alone. ⋯ After 6 months of treatment, VAS score, serum OPN and S-CTX levels in Group B were significantly lower than those in Group A (p=0.001, p<0.001 and p<0.001, respectively); and BMD values of lumbar vertebrae L2-4, femoral neck and total hip bone in Group B were higher than those of Group A (p=0.002, p=0.028 and p<0.001, respectively). In conclusion, parathyroid hormone 1-34 plus ZA is more effective than parathyroid hormone 1-34 alone in treating post postmenopausal osteoporosis. Key Words: Teriparatide (parathyroid hormone 1-34, Zoledronic acid (ZA), Postmenopausal, Osteoporosis, Bone mineral density (BMD).

Clinical Outcomes and Prognostic Factors in HER-2 Positive Breast Cancer with Brain Metastasis: A Single-centre Experience.
To determine the characteristics and prognosis of brain metastasised HER-2 positive breast cancer (BC) patients. ⋯ Patients with ECOG PS score of 0-1 at the time of the BM had 19 months median overall survival (OS), while patients with ECOG PS score of 2 had 8 months (p <0.01). Median OS after BM was 32 and 14 months for patients with one BM and patients with multiple BM, respectively (p <0.01). Multivariate cox regression analyses revealed that time to progression of BM was shorter in patients with high-grade tumors compared to patients with low-grade tumors (p= 0.048), and in patients with de-novo metastasis compared to patients without de-novo metastasis (p= 0.003). Conclusıon: Tumor grade and de-novo metastasis (extracranial metastasis at the time of diagnosis) are independent predictive factors that may cause the earlier occurrence of BM and affect mortality in BC patients. Key Words: Brain metastasis, Breast cancer, HER-2 positive, Metastasis.
