Case ReportsChallenges in the Management of Multiple Splenic Abscesses caused by Extensively Drug-resistant (XDR) Salmonella Typhi.
Extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid emerged in Hyderabad, Pakistan in 2016. It spread regionally and globally due to fast travelling. An immuno-competent young male referred by general practitioner, was diagnosed and managed as XDR salmonella typhi with multiple splenic abscesses. ⋯ There is no data on treatment duration and choice between two sensitive antibiotics or both in combination. In the present situation, sensitisation of clinicians to salmonella drug resistance, rational use of antibiotics and prompt public health awareness is the need of the day, especially in endemic areas. KEY WORDS: Extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid,Splenic abscesses, Azithromycin, Meropenem.

To determine the high risk-human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) prevalence, genotype distribution, and associated risk factors in women with general gynaecological problems. ⋯ The HR-HPV prevalence was 57% with the most prevalent genotypes were HPV 16 and HPV 18. The results will also aid the identification of HR-HPV 51 and 31 genotypes, which should be added in the multi-type HPV vaccines. Characteristics of Patients Presenting with COVID-19 from Balochistan Province and Lessons Learnt.
With the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan, Balochistan province with its unique problems of lowest literacy rates in the country, limited resources and a flail health care system is reporting an increasing number of cases of COVID-19. This study discusses the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 patients from the Balochistan province. ⋯ COVID-19 cases and case fatality ratio is low in Balochistan. Whether this is due to inability to carry out more tests is still to be ascertained. Males and elderly are more affected and fatalities were higher in cases with co-morbid conditions. Balochistan having a weak healthcare system and with the majority of cases being asymptomatic, needs more stringent actions to practice social distancing to avoid further spread of COVID-19.

Meta AnalysisIschemia-modified Albumin to Evaluate Short-term Prognostic of Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome.
In patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), the predicted short-term result of ischemic modified albumin (IMA) is still not recognised now. The above have been searched in PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library databases, and Wanfang databases from the beginning to June 2020. The study explored that patients with positive of IMA had differences in short-term results compared to negative of IMA. ⋯ Due to the limited data coming from different research groups in different countries, the diagnostic criteria for the IMA cut-off may be different. Future large randomised controlled trials will be certainly needed to confirm these findings. Key Words: Acute coronary syndrome, Ischemia-modified albumin, Meta-analysis, MACE, Cardiac death.

Review Case ReportsLung Biopsy in Coronavirus-19 Pneumonia: A Case Report and Review of Literature.
Pneumonia is one of the major manifestations of infection by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) virus. CT scans are used as first line investigation in suspected cases. Biopsies are almost never done. ⋯ His biopsy showed patchy changes of viral pneumonia. One week later, he tested positive for COVID-19 on PCR. He became asymptomatic soon and the ground glass lung opacities cleared up within another week without any treatment in spite of having a serious comorbid condition. Key Words: Viral pneumonia, COVID-19, Lung biopsy.
