Review Case ReportsA Case Report of Imatinib-induced Acute Heart Failure and Literature Review.
Patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) or acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are appropriate candidates for medical treatment using imatinib. Here, we report a case of imatinib-induced acute heart failure in a patient with ALL and retrospectively analyse the adverse reactions of imatinib. The patient was a 45-year man with Ph+ and bcr-abl positive (bcr-abl+) ALL. ⋯ A retrospective analysis of the adverse reactions in 100 cases of leukemia patients, who took imatinib in the past three years, indicated a rare incidence of congestive heart failure among those patients. Our experience in treating the patient suggests that brain natriuretic peptide levels and cardiac doppler examinations should be monitored closely in these patients. Key Words: Imatinib, Acute lymphoid leukemia, Acute heart failure.

Observational StudyRelationship between Hemoglobin A1c and Fractional Flow Reserve Lesion Severity in Non-diabetic Patients.
To find out whether there is any correlation between the fractional flow reserve (FFR) that indicates the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD), and the HbA1c value in non-diabetic patients. ⋯ HbA1c, which shows the long-term glycemic index in non-diabetic individuals, is associated with the severity of CAD determined by the fractional flow reserve. Key Words: Coronary artery disease, fractional flow reserve, HbA1c.

Randomized Controlled TrialDoes Interval between Breastfeedıng and Heel Lance Affect the Perception of Pain in Newborns?
To investigate whether the duration between breastfeeding and heel lance has an effect on babies' pain perception. ⋯ The duration between breastfeeding and heel lance may influence the perception of pain in newborns. Keeping this period short, may reduce the perception of pain. Key Words: Breastfeeding, Breast milk, Newborn, Pain.

Observational StudyMortality in Patients of COVID-19 Infection: Biochemical Markers and its Cut-off Values for Predicting Outcome.
To determine the efficacy and cut-off values of C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), serum ferritin, and D-dimer for predicting mortality of COVID-19 infection. ⋯ Elevated serum CRP, LDH, ferritin and D-dimer are associated with higher mortality in patients of COVID-19 infection. Serum CRP ≥30ng/ml, LDH ≥400 U/L, ferritin ≥200 ng/ml and D-dimer ≥400 ng/ml can predict fatal outcome in COVID-19 patients. Key Words: C-reactive protein (CRP), COVID-19 infection, D-dimer, Ferritin, Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Mortality.

Case ReportsRasmussen's Encephalitis: A Rare Cause of Intractable Seizures.
Rasmussen's encephalitis (RE) is a rare chronic progressive inflammatory disease of the brain that results in difficult-to-control seizures (mostly focal: epilepsia partialis continua), cognitive decline and progressive loss of neurological function including speech, motor skills with eventual paralysis of one half of the body (hemiparesis) and encephalitis. It is a disease that usually affects a single hemisphere and presents commonly at an early age. ⋯ We report a case consistent with the findings of RE in a 4.5-year male child, who presented with status epilepticus; and was diagnosed as a case of RE on clinical and radiological findings. Key Words: Rasmussen's encephalitis, Inflammatory disease, Seizures, Cognitive decline, Hemiparesis.
