Bedside Patent Ductus Arteriosus Ligation in Premature Infants.
To determine the safety of on-site bedside patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation, performed by a regional roving surgical team at different neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in preterm infants with hemodynamically significant PDA (hsPDA). ⋯ Bedside PDA ligation at different NICUs by the roving surgical team is safe and effective. Owing to an extremely low risk, this procedure can be performed successfully in the hands of professional and experienced surgeons. It seems to be a feasible option for premature infants with hsPDA, who do not respond to medical treatment. Key Words: Infant, Patent ductus arteriosus, Ligation, Intensive care unit, Newborn, Surgery.

Short-term Side Effects of Pulse Steroid Treatment in Children.
This study is aimed to evaluate pediatric patients, who were hospitalised in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Health Sciences, Adana City Training and Research Hospital, Turkey, between January, 2019 and January, 2020, and treated with pulse steroid therapy and the early side effects of their treatment. The fasting blood glucose levels of the patients during treatment were statistically significantly higher than those prior to the treatment. The most common side effects observed in the patients were dermatological (48.5%), psychiatric (31.4%), and gastrointestinal (31.4%). ⋯ There is a shortage of studies in literature on pulse steroid therapy and its side effects, especially focusing on children. Multicentre and randomised controlled studies are needed comprising different patient groups to evaluate the efficacy and complications associated with its use. Key Words: Children, Side effect, Pulse steroid treatment.

Case ReportsKleefstra Syndrome with Severe Sensory Neural Deafness and De Novo Novel Mutation.
Kleefstra syndrome is a rare inherited neuro-developmental condition characterised by facial dysmorphism, microcephaly, hypotonia, developmental delay, and intellectual disability. It is a rare syndrome; and less than 100 cases with different genetic mutations are reported so far. We report an eight-month baby boy with Kleefstra syndrome type 2 due to a novel de novo pathogenic mutation in the KMT2C (Lysine methyltransferase 2C) gene. Key Words: Kleefstra syndrome, KMT2C gene, Neurodevelopmental disorder, Deafness.

ChromagarTM Col-Apse for Detection of Colistin Resistance in Clinical Isolates of Multidrug Resistant Gram Negative Bacilli.
To determine the diagnostic accuracy of CHROMagarTM COL-APSE, for detection of colistin resistance in clinical isolates of multi drug resistant (MDR) gram negative bacilli (GNB). ⋯ CHROMagarTM COL-APSE can be used as screening agar by direct streaking of specimen as well as diagnostic for detection of colistin resistance by the use of standardised inoculum. It can be used as a critical time saving method for colistin resistance detection in absence of expertise or manpower required for BMD as well as the cost required for genetic sequencing to detect MCR genes. Key Words: Multi drug resistant (MDR), Gram negative bacilli (GNB), Colistin resistance, CHROMagarTM COL-APSE.

Is AST/ALT Ratio a Predictor of In-hospital Mortality in Pulmonary Embolism Patients?
To document the association between serum transaminases and in-hospital mortality in pulmonary embolism (PE) patients. ⋯ AST/ALT ratio predicts in-hospital mortality with acceptable sensitivity and specificity in patients with acute PE and might be used as a biomarker for risk stratification. Key Words: Pulmonary embolism, In-hospital mortality, Transaminases.
