The Effect of FDG-PET/CT on Clinical Prognostic Staging of Breast Cancer Patients being Planned Neoadjuvant Treatment.
To evaluate the effect of FDG-PET/CT in the radiological imaging of breast cancer (BC) patients planned for neoadjuvant treatment (NAT), on the clinical prognostic stage (CPS). ⋯ The change in CPS was due to nodal upstaging. The effectiveness of including FDG-PET/CT in the initial radiological imaging in patients planned for NAT should be evaluated with prospective studies evaluating treatment choices to be used in NAT. Key Words: PET scan, Breast cancer, Positron emission tomography, Neoadjuvant treatment, Cancer staging, Staging system, TNM.

To compare the serum concentrations of copper, iron and zinc in schizophrenic patients with healthy individuals. ⋯ This study could offer an additional clue in the diagnosis and possible role of trace metals in pathophysiology and progression of many psychiatric illnesses, particularly schizophrenia. Key Words: Psychiatric illness, Schizophrenia, Trace metals.

Observational StudyEffectiveness of Milan Classification in Salivary Gland Aspirations.
To determine the effectiveness of Milan system for the evaluation of aspiration cytology to salivary gland lesions classification. ⋯ In aspiration cytology of salivary gland lesions, Milan system provides useful information in classifying patients for clinical follow-up and treatment. However, it can be said that it is difficult to distinguish between the atypia of uncertain significance and neoplasm categories. Key Words: Salivary glands, Biopsy, Fine-needle, Milan classification.

Accuracy of Metabolic Imaging-guided Transthoracic Biopsy in Lung Cancer.
To compare the detection of transthoracic tru-cut biopsy performed on metabolically active areas in positron emission tomography (PET) for the diagnosis of lung cancer, compared to only CT scan-guided biopsy. ⋯ Transthoracic biopsies taken by considering metabolically active areas of the mass in positron emission tomography-guided can both increase diagnosis rate and reduce the complication rate by preventing repeated biopsies. Key Words: Transthoracic biopsy, PET/CT, Metabolic active lesion, Malignant tumor.

Observational StudyHLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 Alleles in Celiac Disease Patients and Healthy Controls.
To compare HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 alleles between celiac disease patients and healthy control group. ⋯ HLA-DQ2 detection reliably diagnoses celiac disease among all age groups and either gender. It can be used as an effective marker for early diagnosis of celiac disease instead of invasive procedures such as intestinal biopsy. The diagnosis can be pin-pointed by presence of HLA-DQ2.5. Key Words: Celiac disease, HLA-DQ2, HLA-DQ8, HLA-DQ2.5, HLA-DQ2.2.
