Case ReportsColonic Metastasis from Primary Tonsillar Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Rare Cause of Large Bowel Obstruction.
Tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma is a subtype of head and neck cancer that rarely metastasizes to the colorectal system. Colonic metastasis secondary to primary tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma is a very rare clinical occurrence with unclear pathogenesis. ⋯ Here, we aimed to report a case of a 70-year male who underwent palliative surgery due to the symptoms of mechanical bowel obstruction as a result of colonic metastasis of tonsillar carcinoma and review the relevant literature. Excision of Postchemotherapy Residual Retroperitoneal Mass in Testicular Cancer.
In this study, patients, who underwent excision of retroperitoneal mass following chemotherapy for testicular cancers from 2006 to 2016, were studied and followed till 2021. The clinical and oncological outcomes were measured. Among 338 patients, who were treated for TC during the entire study period, 38 (11.2%) underwent excision of the residual retroperitoneal mass. ⋯ Five-year survival rates are lower than standard template-based retroperitoneal dissection, however, complications rates are comparable. Such complex surgeries should only be performed in high-volume centres. Key Words: Testicular neoplasms, Lymph node excision, Seminoma, Germ cell and embryonal.

Case ReportsDuodenal Ulcer Perforatıon after Actıvated Charcoal Treatment.
Activated charcoal, having the capacity to absorb substances with its porous surface, has been used in intoxication treatment for nearly 200 years. Although live-saving, occasionally, it can lead to complications. Because of the risk of perforation during activated charcoal therapy, the integrity of the gastrointestinal tract should be checked after the procedure. ⋯ The present case constitutes the first report of duodenal ulcer perforation after activated charcoal therapy. It should be remembered that activated charcoal, which is widely used in intoxication treatment, may cause gastrointestinal system perforation, peritonitis, adhesion, abscess formation, organ loss within the abdomen, and prolonged hospitalization. Case ReportsGranulomatous Inflammation of Greater Omentum Caused by a Migrating Fishbone.
Fishbone is the most common ingested gastrointestinal foreign matter and is less than 1% perforate. However, a fishbone penetrating the gastrointestinal tract and causing granulomatous inflammation of the greater omentum with local suppuration is not common. Because of the nonspecific clinical symptoms, gastrointestinal perforation may be manifested only as dull abdominal pain, which is often ignored and timely clinical treatment may be delayed. ⋯ These symptoms were the result of granulomatous inflammation of the greater omentum with local suppuration caused by a migrating fishbone (3.5 cm in length). Case ReportsControl of Oesophageal Tumour-related Bleeding with a Fully Covered Self-expandable Metallic Stent (SEMS) Insertion.
The role of metallic stents in the management of refractory variceal bleeding is now well established however, they have been rarely used in the treatment of malignant gastrointestinal (GI) tract bleeding. To our knowledge, there are only three case reports in this regard, where fully covered self-expandable metallic stents (SEMS) were placed for the treatment of bleeding duodenal tumours. We have shared an experience of a novel and successful treatment of the oesophageal tumour-related bleeding with a fully covered SEMS. ⋯ Thus, a temporary fully covered SEMS was inserted across the tumour to create a tamponade effect which resulted in the immediate cessation of the bleeding. This was endoscopically removed after a week and there was no further bleeding in one-month follow-up. Key Words: Upper gastrointestinal bleeding, Metallic stent, Oesophageal cancer.
