Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Propranolol in Accelerating Wound Healing and Attenuation of Hypermetabolism in Adult Burn Patients.
To compare the mean duration of wound healing and attenuation of muscle wasting in adult burn patients treated with propranolol and control group. ⋯ Propranolol administration in adult burn patients appears to be beneficial in reducing morbidity, mortality and hospital stay by enhancing earlier wound healing and attenuating the catabolic muscle wasting in response to stress caused by burn.

Randomized Controlled TrialIntraperitoneal Bupivacaine as Post-laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Analgesia.
To assess the efficacy of large volumes of diluted intraperitoneal bupivacaine in post-laparoscopic cholecystectomy analgesia. ⋯ Large volume of diluted bupivacaine when injected intraperitoneally during laparoscopic cholecystectomy provides prolonged time pain relief.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Intrathecal Bupivacaine and Bupivacaine Plus Fentanyl in Elderly Patients Undergoing Total Hip Arthroplasty.
To determine and compare the clinical efficacy of spinal anesthesia with bupivacaine combined with fentanyl and bupivacaine alone in geriatric patients scheduled for total hip arthroplasty (THA). ⋯ Adding 20 μg fentanyl to a lower dose of 7.5 mg bupivacaine can provide safe and effective spinal anesthesia for THA in geriatric patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the Effects of Ultrasound-guided Erector Spinae Plane Block and Wound Infiltration on Perioperative Opioid Consumption and Postoperative Pain in Thoracotomy.
To compare the effects of preoperative ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and preoperative wound infiltration on perioperative opioid consumption and postoperative pain in thoracotomy. ⋯ Compared to wound infiltration with local anesthetics, preoperative ultrasound-guided ESPB could significantly reduce perioperative opioid consumption, provide a better postoperative analgesia and reduce opioid-related adverse events in thoracotomy.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the Post-Total Knee Arthroplasty Analgesic Effect of Intraoperative Periarticular Injection of Different Analgesics.
To compare post-TKA (total knee arthroplasty) analgesic effect of periarticular injection of different analgesics during surgery. ⋯ Compared with periarticular injection of compound analgesics of bupivacaine, methylprednisolone, adrenaline, morphine and normal saline during surgery, periarticular injection of compound analgesics of ropivacaine, ketorolac, adrenaline, morphine and normal saline during surgery can alleviate post-TKA pain more effectively, improve early ROM of joint knee after surgery, increase rehabilitation effect of knee joint.
