Meta AnalysisEffect of Montelukast Combined with Budesonide on Inflammatory Response and Pulmonary Function in Children with Cough Variant Asthma: A Meta-analysis.
This meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy of montelukast (MKST) combined with budesonide (BUD) and BUD alone in the treatment of pulmonary inflammation and pulmonary function in children with cough variant asthma (CVA). Five electronic databases were searched for studies about MKST+BUD therapy and BUD alone therapy on inflammation and pulmonary function in CVA children from inception to November 23, 2021. ⋯ To conclude, compared with BUD alone, MKST+BUD therapy was found to be more effective in improving pulmonary function and reducing inflammation in CVA children. Key Words: Montelukast, Budesonide, Cough variant asthma, Children, Pulmonary function, Inflammatory markers, Meta-analysis.

Meta AnalysisHypertension as a Risk Factor for Primary Open-angle Glaucoma: A Meta-analysis.
Hypertension (HTN) is not recognised as an independent risk factor for primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). A search of PubMed, Embase, Medline, Wanfang, and Cochrane Library databases from the time each database was established up to July 2022 was performed. All studies were pooled and assessed for heterogeneity and the quality of the literature. ⋯ A meta-analysis of cross-sectional studies revealed that the incidence of HTN and diabetes was significantly greater among individuals with POAG. HTN and diabetes were found to be independent risk factors for POAG. Key Words: Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), Hypertension (HTN), Diabetes, Meta-analysis.

Review Meta AnalysisEffects of Exercise-based Management on Motor Symptoms in Parkinson's Disease - A Meta-analysis.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurological illness after Alzheimer's disease. According to research, medication alone can give palliative alleviation; however, freezing of gait (FOG) and balance can be treated with physical therapy. This meta-analysis aims to bridge gaps about exercise-based therapy's impact on balance and FOG in patients with PD. ⋯ The fixed effect model of FOG in terms of SMD was used to draw the pooled effects of FOG in terms of SMD and FOG in terms of SMD (0.21; 95 percent CI -0.01 to 0.44; p=0.06). According to this research, several physiotherapy approaches such as exergaming, gamepad systems, virtual reality, gait exercises, and core training, help Parkinson's patients regain balance and FOG. Key Words: Parkinson's disease, Physical therapy techniques, Neurological rehabilitation, Balance, Freezing of gait, Motor symptoms.

Meta AnalysisComparison of Cannulated Screw Combined with Medial Femoral Plate and Simple Cannulated Screw in the Treatment of Pauwels Type III Femoral Neck Fracture: A Meta-analysis with Trial Sequential Analysis.
This study aimed to compare the efficacy of cannulated screw combined with medial femoral plate and simple cannulated screw for Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture. In May 2022, relavent clinical trial articles were searched in seven online databases. After literature screening, quality evaluation, and data extraction according to the specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, the differences in therapeutic efficacy, complications, and intraoperative outcomes were compared between the two groups. ⋯ The sensitivity analysis, Egger's test, and trial sequential analysis (TSA) showed that the combination results were stable and reliable. This demonstrated that compared to that with the simple cannulated screw, the cannulated screw combined with medial femoral plate had better efficacy and less complication. Key Words: Femoral neck fracture, Therapy effect, Cannulated screw, Medial femoral plate, Trial sequential analysis.

Meta AnalysisA Meta-analysis of the Risk Factors for Stroke-associated Pneumonia.
This study aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to assess the possible risk factors of stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP). A comprehensive search of PubMed, Medline, and Cochrane Library was gathered from 2000 to April 2022. A case-control study evaluating the risk factors of SAP was selected. ⋯ This research is crucial because some risk factors are easily recognised, and patients with one or more of these risk factors were developing SAP. Disorders such as dysphagia, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, and hypertension should be addressed and managed to reduce the incidence of SAP conundrums. Key Words: Ischemic stroke, Pneumonia, Risk factor.
