Implementation of clinical practice guidelines, an important strategy in the prevention of pressure injuries, enables the nurse to interpret evidence-based guideline recommendations, reduce errors, ensure compliance and standardisation of complex processes, manage patient-related risks and systematically regulate all preventable conditions. ⋯ This study demonstrated that the SPIPP- Adult Checklist 2.0 is a valid tool. Interventions using the evidence-based checklist should be integrated into the workflow and provide the best opportunity for successful and sustainable pressure injury prevention.

The shift of treatment of paediatric cancer patients to include more care at home puts a lot of pressure on health care professionals (HCPs) to prepare and train parents on safe and correct drug handling at home. Parents must take in and understand the information presented to them while coping with their own fear related to their child's cancer diagnosis. In Sweden, parents are expected to handle and manipulate oral anticancer drugs (OADs) in the home setting. There is however a lack of a standardized method to inform and educate parents on how to handle OADs in a correct way at home. ⋯ This educational intervention study shows promising results for the method used by HCPs to inform and educate parents on complicated topics such as handling OADs at home.

This study aimed to investigate the influential factors of adherence to inhalation drug therapy (IDT) in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ Dose adherence was predominantly influenced by COPD health literacy, mMRC grading, duration of COPD, utilisation of support and marital status. Inhalation technical standardisation was substantially limited by age, mMRC grading, social support, mode of residence, number of acute exacerbations in the past year and literacy.
