Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of tissue adequacy for histologic examination from Ipas MVA plus and Wallach Endocell in women with abnormal uterine bleeding.
The aim of this study was to compare endometrial tissue adequacy sampling by Wallach Endocell and manual vacuum aspiration (Ipas MVA plus) in women with abnormal uterine bleeding. Pain and immediate complications from each method were also compared. ⋯ MVA was comparable to Endocell in terms of tissue adequacy. Moderate to severe pain was experienced significantly more in the MVA group; however, the requirement of pain treatment was not significantly different between the groups.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol plus spironolactone versus cyproterone acetate/ethinyl estradiol in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome: a randomized controlled trial.
To compare the effects of ethinyl estradiol (EE) 30 mcg/desogestrel 150 mcg plus spironolactone 25 mg/day (group A) versus EE 35 mcg/cyproterone acetate 2 mg (group B) on hyperandrogenism and metabolism in PCOS. ⋯ Both regimens had quite similar efficacy on hyperandrogenism after three cycles of therapy and without any changes in metabolic parameters.

Randomized Controlled TrialIntravenous infusion of paracetamol for intrapartum analgesia.
To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of an i.v. infusion of paracetamol during the active phase of labor as compared with sterile water (placebo) as a method for intrapartum analgesia. ⋯ Paracetamol appears to be a safe and effective medicine that can be used during the intrapartum period.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyRectally administrated misoprostol as an alternative to intravenous oxytocin infusion for preventing post-partum hemorrhage after cesarean delivery.
With the increasing rate of cesarean delivery (CD) worldwide, there is a need for a revision of practices to prevent post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) after CD. In search of a safe, cheap and effective alternative to oxytocin for prevention of PPH during the postoperative period of CD, the present study aimed to compare rectally administrated misoprostol with i.v. oxytocin infusion. ⋯ Rectally administrated 800-mg misoprostol may be an effective alternative to oxytocin infusion to prevent PPH after CD.

Randomized Controlled TrialTranscutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for the relief of post-partum uterine contraction pain during breast-feeding: a randomized clinical trial.
To evaluate transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) used to relieve uterine contraction pain during breast-feeding in multiparous women. ⋯ TENS was found to be effective in reducing post-partum uterine contraction pain during breast-feeding.
