Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyImmunogenicity and safety of human papillomavirus-16/18 AS04-adjuvanted cervical cancer vaccine in healthy Indian women.
India has the highest number of annual incident cases and mortality rates for cervical cancer worldwide. This study was conducted to assess the immunogenicity and safety of human papillomavirus (HPV)-16/18 AS04-adjuvanted cervical cancer vaccine in healthy Indian women aged 18-35 years old. ⋯ The AS04-adjuvanted HPV-16/18 cervical cancer vaccine was highly immunogenic and generally well-tolerated making it a potential tool for prevention and control of cervical cancer in India.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of education and pill count on hemoglobin status during prenatal care in Nepalese women: a randomized controlled trial.
To determine the effect of an education program and/or pill count on the change in hemoglobin levels and the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women. ⋯ An education program along with routine iron supplementation can improve hemoglobin levels and reduce anemia prevalence in pregnant women. Pill count as a measure of compliance has no additional effect on improving hemoglobin status.

Randomized Controlled TrialExternal aortic compression device: the first aid for postpartum hemorrhage control.
To evaluate the external aortic compression device (EACD) as a first aid to control postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). ⋯ EACD is a cost-effective and easily applied maneuver that allows satisfactory management of PPH without maternal mortality or morbidity. It is of value in developing countries.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyCarbetocin versus syntometrine in prevention of post-partum hemorrhage following vaginal delivery.
To compare the efficacy of a single dose of 100 microg intramuscular carbetocin to a single dose of intramuscular syntometrine (0.5 mg ergometrine and 5IU oxytocin), in preventing post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) in high risk patients following vaginal delivery. ⋯ Intramuscular carbetocin may be more effective than intramuscular syntometrine in reducing post-partum blood loss and the drop in hemoglobin level.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyA comparison between the effect of oxytocin only and oxytocin plus propranolol on the labor (a double blind randomized trial).
The comparison between the effect of oxytocin alone or in combination with propranolol on labor. ⋯ Propranolol may shorten the induction duration and labor and reduce the amount of necessary oxytocin.
