Covid-19 Threat in Patients with High-Risk Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Receiving Intravesical BCG Therapy.
We evaluated the COVID-19 infection threat in patients receiving intravesical BCG therapy which has immunotherapeutic effects and is of vital importance in most of the individuals with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and investigated the need for postponement of this therapy. ⋯ Every effort should be made to administer intravesical BCG treatment in high-risk NMIBC patients even during the pandemic period. However, increased risk of COVID-19 transmission should be kept in mind and protective measures against COVID-19 for healthcare providers and patients before the procedure should be taken optimally. The procedure should be postponed in patients with lymphopenia in recent complete blood count.

Clinical trials: predictors of knowledge and attitudes toward participation.
Clinical trials (CTs) are critical to advancing of patient care. Understanding the public's knowledge and the attitudes towards participating in CTs is important for their successful implication. In Jordan this data are currently not available. The present study aimed to explore the knowledge, attitude and perception of Jordanians towards CTs participation. ⋯ This study revealed important insights regarding knowledge, attitudes and perception of Jordanians towards CTs. Educational interventions can improve awareness of the ethical standards under which CTs are conducted affecting the perception to participate. Promotion of CTs among patients and healthy individuals is needed to increase participation.

Adherence to methotrexate therapy in Polish patients with inflammatory joint diseases.
Methotrexate (MTX) is the first-line medicine used in most inflammatory joint diseases. It is highly effective but, it's burdened with common side effects and the result of treatment is not immediately visible. This fact significantly increases the risk of unsatisfying patients' compliance. It may lead to difficulties in achieving disease remission and unjustified escalation of treatment. ⋯ High adherence with prescribed MTX is associated with good treatment tolerance, while the occurrence of side effects significantly increases the risk of discontinuation, often without consulting the physician.

The Modulating Effect of Dietary Protein Intake on Mortality in Long-term Hemodialysis Patients: A Nationwide Population-based Study.
A high prevalence of protein-energy wasting and malnutrition among uremic patients is associated with an increase in morbidity and mortality. We aimed to investigate the modulating effect of daily dietary protein intake (DPI) evaluated by normalised protein catabolic rate (nPCR) on mortality in long-term haemodialysis (HD) patient from a nationwide population-based study. ⋯ Low DPI (as presented by nPCR) independently correlated with all-cause and CV mortality among HD patients. Mortality risks were higher in low DPI patients even with normoalbuminaemia and non-hypocholesterolaemia. Further investigations on the importance of increasing DPI in HD patients is warranted.

Ferritin index is a strong prognostic marker in Adult Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis.
The relationship between ferritin levels and survival in adult hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) has been evaluated in previous studies. However, Admission-to-discharge percentage ferritin reduction (named as ferritin index) level in adult patients with HLH has never been evaluated to predict 6-month survival. ⋯ Ferritin index is a better predictor of 6-month survival than admission and discharges ferritin levels in adult patients with HLH.
