Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of various laser devices on lithotripsy in retrograde intrarenal surgery used to treat 1-2 cm kidney stones: A prospective randomized study.
To compare the efficacy of different laser devices and power ranges on lithotripsy in retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) for 1-2 cm kidney stones. ⋯ The 30 W laser device used in RIRS for 1-2 cm kidney stones had shorter operation times, higher SFRs, and lower post-operative pain scores compared with the 20 W device. The 30 W laser device is safe and more efficient in RIRS for treatment of 1-2 cm kidney stones.

Randomized Controlled TrialSaffron improves life and sleep quality, glycemic status, lipid profile and liver function in diabetic patients: A double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial.
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a metabolic disorder that is related to hyperglycaemia, hyperlipidaemia and liver dysfunction and has detrimental effects on a patient's mental health. Hence, the current study investigated the effects of saffron supplementation on dietary intake, anthropometric measures, mood, sleep quality and metabolic biomarkers in overweight/obese patients with T2D. ⋯ Our results indicate that saffron notably reduced hyperglycaemia and hyperlipidaemia and improved liver function in patients with T2D in an 8-week randomised clinical trial. Saffron also significantly improved depression, sleep quality and overall quality of life in diabetic patients. However, further investigation is necessary to confirm whether saffron is an effective complementary therapy for T2D.

Randomized Controlled TrialSerum TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 Levels in Chronic HBV-Infected Patients.
The objective of the study was to evaluate the serum levels of tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-6 in chronic HBV-infected patients. ⋯ The results of our study showed that serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 are increased in CHB patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialHome physical exercise improves functional mobility and quality of life in elderly. A CONSORT-prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial.
To test the hypothesis of a semi-supervised home physical exercise programme that is likely to improve the functional mobility and quality of life (QOL) of elderly in the community. ⋯ Semi-supervised physical home exercise is safe and effective in improving the functional mobility and QOL of sedentary elderly people in the community.

Randomized Controlled TrialImpact of a medication reconciliation care bundle at hospital discharge on continuity of care: a randomized controlled trial.
To compare the impact of a care bundle including medication reconciliation at discharge by a pharmacist versus standard of care, on continuity of therapeutic changes between hospital and primary care and outcome of patients, within 1 month after discharge. ⋯ This care bundle resulted in the reduction of treatment changes between hospital discharge and primary care.
