Investigation of Factors Influencing the Fear of Cancer Recurrence in Breast Cancer Patients Using Structural Equation Modeling: A Cross-Sectional Study.
This study aimed to investigate the fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) in breast cancer patients and develop a structural equation model of influencing factors to help formulate clinical intervention strategies. ⋯ The fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients needs further understanding. Medical staff can reduce or buffer FCR in breast cancer patients by strengthening positive influences, such as social support, or weakening negative influences, such as illness uncertainty and resignation coping.

Observational StudyPeripheral Saturation and Perfusion Index on the First Day of Life Play a Role in Early Discharge of Healthy Term Newborns.
Pulse oximetry screening is a safe, feasible test, effective in identifying congenital heart diseases in otherwise well-appearing newborns. Uncertainties still persist on the most effective algorithm to be used and the timing of screening. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of the pulse oximetry screening associated with the peripheral perfusion index performed in the first 24 hours of life for the early detection of congenital heart diseases and noncongenital heart diseases in the newborns. ⋯ Combining peripheral saturation with the peripheral perfusion index in the first 24 hours of life shows a predictive role in the detection of minor congenital heart diseases and neonatal clinical conditions whose care needs attention.

Assessment of Awareness of Local Anaesthetic Systemic Toxicity (LAST) among Postgraduate Trainees.
Although uncommon, local anaesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST) may impose fatal risk to the patients. We investigated the awareness of LAST and knowledge on local anaesthetics among our postgraduate trainees. ⋯ The overall level of awareness was poor. However, the implementation of an education session significantly improved the knowledge and awareness across all disciplines.

Early Diagnosis of Abnormal Left Ventricular Systolic Functions of Rare Pathogenic Titin Mutation Gene Carriers in FHCM by Three-Dimensional Speckle Tracking Echocardiography Combined with Gene Detection.
This study aimed to explore the early diagnosis of abnormal left ventricular systolic function of rare pathogenic titin (TTN) mutation gene carriers in familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (FHCM) by three-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (3D-STE) combined with gene detection. ⋯ There were 4 subjects diagnosed as asymptomatic TTN gene carriers with the mutation locus of Val135643Ile, and their GLS and partial RLS were significantly reduced; GLS had the better sensitivity and specificity than LVPWD, IVSD, and LVMI.

Clinical TrialSeven Months after Mild COVID-19: A Single-Centre Controlled Follow-Up Study in the District of Constance (FSC19-KN).
The primary aim of the study was to investigate the rate of hospitalization and admission diagnoses in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV-2) positive patients seven months after initial infection. Secondarily, measurement of long-term effects on physical performance, quality of life, and functional outcome was intended. ⋯ The results suggest that mild COVID-19 has no impact on the hospitalization rate during the first seven months after infection. Despite unimpaired performance in cardiopulmonary exercise, SARS-CoV-2-positive subjects reported reduced quality of life and functional sequelae. Underlying psychoneurological mechanisms need further investigation. Trial Registration. This trial is registered with clinicaltrials.gov (identifier: NCT04724434) and German Clinical Trials Register (identifier: DKRS00022409).
