Review Meta AnalysisStatins Are Associated with Improved Survival of Patients with Gastric Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Statins are associated with gastric cancer (GC) risk. The present study aimed to clarify the efficacy of statins on the overall survival (OS) benefits in patients with GC. Publications were retrieved from PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library as of April 2022. ⋯ A prospective study did not find any statistically significant difference in OS between statins users vs. nonstatin users (HR (95% CI): 0.92 (0.68-1.26), p = 0.614; I 2 = 11.7%, p heterogeneity = 0.322), whereas the retrospective studies showed prolonged OS in statins users (HR (95% CI): 0.63 (0.42-0.961), p = 0.032; I 2 = 94.6%, p heterogeneity < 0.001). Statin users had significantly improved OS compared to nonstatin users in GC treatment. This long-term survival benefit was only observed in the pooled analysis of retrospective studies but not in prospective studies.

Meta AnalysisImpact of Preoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging on Surgical Outcomes in Women with Invasive Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Currently, whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) should be routinely applied to patients with breast cancer before surgery remains controversial. A pooled analysis of the association between preoperative MRI and surgical outcomes in female patients with newly diagnosed invasive breast cancer was conducted to provide evidence-based medicine for clinical practice. ⋯ Available evidence suggests that preoperative MRI examination increases the rate of mastectomy and reduces the rate of reoperations. The results indicate that preoperative MRI examination has the potential to benefit patients with breast cancer, but more high-quality studies are needed for confirmation.

Review Meta AnalysisTreatment of Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy for Moderate or Severe Proteinuria: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that the efficacy of drugs differs in idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) patients with moderate or high proteinuria. However, there is no systematic comparison confirming it. This network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed to respectively compare the efficacy of ten IMN treatments in patients with moderate and high proteinuria and compare the risk of adverse events with 10 IMN regimens. ⋯ Steroids + TAC showed significant efficacy in patients with all degrees of proteinuria, while RTX was more effective in patients with moderate proteinuria and was safer in bone marrow suppression and gastrointestinal symptoms.

Review Meta AnalysisEffects of Resveratrol on Metabolic Indicators in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Previous studies on the effects of resveratrol on metabolic indicators reported contradictory findings, and these indicators have not been frequently studied in patients with type 2 diabetes. In this study, we aimed to examine the effects of resveratrol on metabolic indicators in a specific group of people with type 2 diabetes using the most recent literature. ⋯ This systematic review and meta-analysis updated the most recent literature and provided new evidence, proving that resveratrol treatment can reduce systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. High-dose resveratrol can reduce fasting blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes, although it has no effect on waist circumference, triglyceride, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
