Observational StudyDoes Rocuroinum Dose Adjusted Due to Lean Body Weight Provide Adequate Intubation Conditions?: A Prospective Observational Study.
This is a prospective, observational study. Patients between the ages of 18 and 65 with BMI of 18.5-34.9, who are expected to be under general anesthesia for less than 6 hours, were divided into 3 groups according to their BMI (Group 1 BMI = 18.5-24.9, Group 2 BMI = 25-29.9, Group 3 BMI = 30-34.9). These groups were randomly divided into 2 subgroups: Groups LBW; 1 LBW, 2 LBW, and 3 LBW were given rocuronium intubation dosages based on their LBW while control groups; 1K, 2K, and 3K were given 0.6 mg/kg rocuronium according to their total body weight. The data on the duration of action of rocuronium and its effects on the endotracheal intubation conditions were evaluated. ⋯ In adult patients with a BMI of 18.5 and 24.9 BMI, we report optimal intubation conditions with the LBW-adjusted rocuronium dosage. This trial is registered with NCT05476952.

Behaviors of Water Intake, Hydration Status, and Related Hydration Biomarkers among Physically Active Male Young Adults in Beijing, China: A Cross-Sectional Study.
Studies on the water intake of athletes in daily life are insufficient. The objective was to determine the water intake and hydration status among physically active male young adults. In this cross-sectional studies study, 111 physically active male young adults were recruited. ⋯ Insufficient water intake and hypohydration were common among physically active male young adults. The amount and type of water intake were correlated with hydration status and urine biomarkers. The results could provide scientific and accurate references for the development of recommendations on water intake for athletes.

The Relationship of Partial Pressure of Carbon Dioxide (PaCO2) with Disease Severity Indicators Such as BODE and GOLD in Hospitalized COPD Patients.
This study aimed to investigate the relationship of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) with BODE and GOLD in stable COPD subjects and to explore the predictive value of PaCO2 for severe COPD (BODE index score ≥5 or GOLD index score ≥3). Patients and Methods. In total, 80 participants with COPD and free from other conditions affecting PaCO2 were recruited. Arterial blood gases, BODE, GOLD, SGRQ, lung function, and other data were collected. The BODE index was calculated, and patients were divided into two groups according to the BODE index and PaCO2 median, respectively. We used Pearson's correlation test and the receiver operating characteristic curves to evaluate the utility of PaCO2. Besides, the univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to verify whether PaCO2 was an independent factor associated with BODE grades. ⋯ A higher level of PaCO2 was associated with a higher index for BODE or GOLD in COPD and had the predictive value for severe COPD.

Effects of Teriparatide on Bone Mineral Density and Prevention of Fragility Fractures in Saudi Arabian Subjects with Osteoporosis: A Two-Year Clinical Study from a Single Center.
A prospective study was conducted. Setting. This study took place at King Fahd Hospital of the University, Imam AbdulRahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Primary and Secondary Outcomes. The study aimed to evaluate changes in BMD and prevention of fragility fractures. ⋯ Our study shows that 94.5% completed the treatment duration, and there was an increase in the BMD. The decrease in T-scores of the lumbar spine and hip was significant so was the reduction in the number of fractures.
