Sonoanatomy and an ultrasound scanning protocol of the intramuscular innervation pattern of the infraspinatus muscle.
Botulinum neurotoxin injection is a valuable treatment method for patients with myofascial pain syndrome in the infraspinatus muscle. However, there is no botulinum neurotoxin injection guideline, and the most appropriate injection site based on topographical anatomic information for this injection to effectively treat myofascial pain syndrome in the infraspinatus muscle is unclear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the intramuscular nerve terminal of the infraspinatus muscle and to suggest the most efficient botulinum neurotoxin injection sites. ⋯ The proposed injection sites based on the intramuscular nerve terminal and surface landmarks can be regarded as accurate locations to reach the cluster area of the intramuscular nerve terminal and each compartment of the infraspinatus muscle to manage the myofascial pain syndrome in the infraspinatus muscle.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison between ultrasound-guided multi-injection intertransverse process and thoracic paravertebral blocks for major breast cancer surgery: a randomized non-inferiority trial.
This study investigated whether a novel multi-injection intertransverse process block could provide non-inferior analgesia and recovery quality following major breast cancer surgery compared with the multi-injection thoracic paravertebral block. ⋯ Compared with a multi-injection thoracic paravertebral block, the multi-injection intertransverse process block provided non-inferior analgesia within 30 min in the recovery room and recovery quality at 24 hours following major breast cancer surgery in females.

How to report drug concentrations or classic pharmacokinetics in regional anesthesia and pain medicine: what information needs to be provided?
When reporting individual drug concentrations or proper pharmacokinetic data, it is important to adequately report the circumstances associated with sampling, storing, analysis methodology and pharmacokinetic modelling. If this is not done in sufficient detail it will be impossible to properly evaluate the validity of the results. The present text represents a suggested approach on what to report when you are contemplating to submit a manuscript to regional anesthesia and pain medicine, this to achieve relevant standards in this context.
