Falls from height are one of the leading causes of death from unintentional injuries. ⋯ Fall from height is a potentially preventable cause of skeletal injuries, as most of the injuries sustained due to fall from height were domestic injuries and occurred due to poor dwelling units.

[Clinical, radiological and bronchoscopic evaluation of inhalation injury cases treated at a burn center].
We aimed to introduce inhalation injury, pulmonary complications and mortality-related factors on the basis of clinical, radiological and bronchoscopic findings in patients with inhalation burns. ⋯ Inhalation burns in patients with cutaneous burns cause a high percentage of pulmonary complications and increase mortality. Bronchoscopy must be performed early for diagnosis, and close follow-up of these patients is necessary.

Case ReportsContact with wet cement: an unrecognized cause of chemical burn.
Chemical burns account for a small percentage of admissions to burn units. Wet cement is a poorly recognized cause of chemical burn. As the construction industry is growing, individuals will likely have more contact with this material and be more prone to its harmful effects. ⋯ The lack of information about the potential hazards of wet cement makes it an important problem that must be considered more seriously as a risk factor for chemical burn. Increasing public knowledge of the necessary preventive measures is crucial for avoiding this type of chemical burn injury. Here, we report a case with full-thickness burn that occurred while working with wet cement without proper protection.

Case ReportsDelayed diagnosis of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture with herniation of the liver: a case report.
Diaphragmatic rupture is a potentially life-threatening clinical situation. It occurs as a result of high-velocity blunt or penetrating injury to the abdomen and thorax. Acute traumatic rupture of the diaphragm may go undetected, and there is often a delay between the injury and diagnosis. ⋯ Since clinical signs and symptoms were nonspecific, helical computed tomography was done, which revealed diaphragmatic rupture with hepatothorax. Emergency thoracotomy was done to repair diaphragmatic rent. The postoperative period was uneventful, and the patient was discharged three weeks later.
