The preoperative peripheral blood neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) have been reported to be associated with the prognosis of various cancers but are always discussed separately. The aim of this study is to bring the combination of NLR, PLR and MLR into the prognostic assessment system of endometrial cancer (EC) and establish a nomogram to provide an objective prediction model for clinical decisions. ⋯ The combination of NLR, PLR, and MLR is a superior prognostic factor of EC. The nomogram involving the combination of NLR, PLR, MLR and other clinicopathological factors is recommended to predict OS for EC patients clinically.

The purpose of this study was to determine the prognostic role of hormone receptor (HR) on inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) to elucidate its aggressive biological behavior. ⋯ Higher ER expression was significantly associated with improved survival in both HR+/HER2- IBC and HR+/HER2- stage III non-IBC patients. HR+/HER2- IBC had several activated pathways with MYC upregulation, and the genetic alteration was associated with poor survival outcome. The results indicate that MYC may be a key gene for understanding the biology of HR+/HER2- IBC.

The objective of this study was to investigate real-world EGFR mutation testing in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) upon progression on first-/second-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), and subsequent treatments received. ⋯ A third of patients received subsequent therapies on disease progression; only 30% of these were tested for EGFR-TKI resistance mutation, prior to receiving subsequent therapies. These results highlight the importance of choosing treatments in the 1 L setting that optimize benefits for patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC.

Clinicopathological and prognostic value of SNHG6 in cancers: a systematic review and a meta-analysis.
Dysregulation of the long non-coding RNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 16 (lncRNA SNHG6) has been found in multiple cancers. However, a definite conclusion on the clinical value of lncRNA SNHG6 expression in human cancers has not been determined. The purpose of the present meta-analysis was to comprehensively elucidate the association between SNHG6 expression and clinical outcomes in cancers. ⋯ High lncRNA SNHG6 expression was correlated with tumor invasion depth, LNM, DM, and advanced TNM stage, suggesting that SNHG6 may serve as a promising prognostic biomarker of human cancers.

Concern for cardiovascular disease (particularly atrial fibrillation-AF) among women with breast cancer is becoming a major issue. We aimed at determining the incidence of cardiovascular disease events (AF, arterial and cardiac events, venous-thromboembolism-VTE) in patients diagnosed with breast cancer, and assessing potential risk factors. ⋯ The incidence of cardiovascular disease events was 5.8% ([3.8-7.7] CI 95%), with HER-2 over-expression, UICC-stage III tumors or more and pre-existing cardiovascular diseases being associated with them. These findings call for the development of preventive strategies in patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
