Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialAdding ketoprofen to intravenous patient-controlled analgesia with tramadol after major gynecological cancer surgery: a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
Ketoprofen is a NSAIDs of the 2-aryl propionic acid class commonly used in the treatment of inflammatory rheumatic disease, acute pain and fever. Clinically, ketoprofen seems to reduce morphine requirements by 33 to 40% with ketoprofen's supposed central mechanism of analgesia. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) ketoprofen as an adjuvant to IV PCA (patient controlled analgesia) with tramadol after major gynecological cancer surgery for postoperative analgesia. ⋯ No significant difference was observed in pain score, side-effects and patient satisfaction between the groups (p > 0.05). The cumulative PCA-tramadol consumption was lower in the ketoprofen-treated patients than placebo-treated patients (p < 0.05). Our results demonstrate that a single dose of 100 mg ketoprofen reduced tramadol consumption for treatment of postoperative pain after major gynecological cancer surgery.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialDepot leuprorelin acetate versus danazol in the treatment of infertile women with symptomatic endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a common finding in women with infertility, but the mechanism by which it renders a woman infertile remains unclear. The medical treatment of pelvic endometriosis includes hormonal therapy that directly attacks endometriosis lesions or indirectly by inhibiting endometrial proliferation through estrogenic deprivation. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of leuprorelin acetate depot and danazol for endometriosis in infertile women. ⋯ Both leuprorelin acetate depot and danazol are effective in the treatment of endometriosis in infertile patients. The hypoestrogenic side-effects of leuprorelin may be better tolerated than the androgenic, anabolic effects of danazol.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Clinical TrialComparison of enoxaparin and standard heparin in gynaecologic oncologic surgery: a randomised prospective double-blind clinical study.
This study aimed to compare the haemorrhagic complications and efficacy of enoxaparin, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), and conventional standard heparin (SH) in gynaecological oncologic surgery. ⋯ A dose of 2,500 IU enoxaparin/day does not cause more bleeding complications than SH 5,000 IU three times daily when used to prevent thrombosis. However, the dose of enoxaparin must be adjusted to the patient's weight.
