Arachnoid cysts are lesions present in 1% of the population and usually found in the temporal fossa. Clinical and radiologic presentations can differ greatly. Despite intensive research, it is still debatable which patients will benefit from surgery. ⋯ This study demonstrates that patients with symptoms related to intracranial hypertension, acute neurologic deficits, and macrocrania have the best postoperative outcome. Also, patients with ipsilateral temporal lobe epilepsy seem to be good candidates for endoscopic arachnoid cyst fenestrations. In complex neurologic disorders without one of the previously mentioned symptoms, endoscopy remains less successful.

Tibioperoneal Short Circuiting for Stump Neuroma Pain in Amputees: Revival of an Old Technique.
Stump neuroma pain in amputees can be quite challenging. Surgical treatment may be largely subdivided into neuromodulative and non-neuromodulative methods. The latter includes neurocapsis, insertion of nerve stump into the bone marrow, centro-central short circuit (CCSC), and coverage with vascularized soft tissue flaps. CCSC was shown to be extremely effective in alleviation of pain. Reports on CCSC for the treatment of stump neuroma pain have disappeared from the literature, with a shift toward neuromodulation for the treatment of pain irrespective of etiology. ⋯ CCSC is a simple, effective, and long-lasting method to treat painful stump neuromas in amputees. It should be strongly considered in deserving cases before resorting to neuromodulative methods.

To evaluate the accessibility of educational and recruitment content of Neurosurgery Residency Websites (NRWs). ⋯ Multiple prior studies have demonstrated that medical students applying to neurosurgery rely heavily on residency program websites. As such, the paucity of content on NRWs allows for future opportunity to optimize online resources for neurosurgery training. Making sure that individual programs provide relevant content, make the content easier to find and adhere to established web design principles could increase the usability of NRWs.
