Lumbar synovial cysts (LSCs) are an uncommon cause of radiculopathy and back pain. Open surgical treatment is associated with extensive bone resection and muscle trauma. The endoscopic tubular-assisted LSC resection has not been described in detail. Here the authors assessed the effectiveness of this technique for LSC resection. ⋯ The endoscopic tubular-assisted procedure is a safe way to treat LSC. It offers complete resection of LSC and achieves good clinical outcome by preserving muscle and ligamentous and bony structures, which prevents delayed instability.

To analyze the predictors for and clinical impact of gross total resection (GTR) in patients with glioblastoma (GBM). ⋯ Although a prospective randomized trial on this topic is unlikely to be completed, this large retrospective analysis provides evidence to support the recommendation of GTR in patients with GBM. This study does not support a survival benefit of STR over biopsy alone (when grouped into these 2 groups), although there may be a subset of patients with near total resection who would benefit.

A 30-year-old man was admitted for sudden loss of consciousness. On angio-CT, a ring-like vascular formation arising from the anterior communicating artery with a low-density center was visualized. This finding was consistent with a giant arterial aneurysm presenting with a central thrombus, also called "donut aneurysm".

Currently, polylactide is the most popular material used to made bioabsorbable cages but too-quick degradation and osteolysis around the cage have been reported in the literature. This study evaluated the fusion effect, biomechanical stability, and histologic characteristics of a novel bioabsorbable multiamino acid copolymer/nanohydroxyapatite/calcium sulfate (MAACP/n-HA/CS) interbody cage in a goat model of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. ⋯ MAACP/n-HA/CS cages can provide good fusion effect, enough biomechanical stability, and integrate closely with the surrounding bone.

Acute intracranial atherosclerotic disease (IAD)-related large artery occlusion (LAO) is typically refractory to mechanical thrombectomy. We evaluated the feasibility and safety of emergency balloon-assisted or stent-assisted angioplasty performed with tirofiban administration for acute IAD-related LAO. ⋯ Our data point to the safety and feasibility of emergency balloon-assisted or stent-assisted angioplasty performed with tirofiban administration and a single or no passage of the stent retriever for acute IAD-related LAO.
