Use of short-segment or long-segment fusion is controversial in treatment of adult lumbar degenerative scoliosis (ALDS). The aim of this study was to explore efficacy and feasibility of precision treatment of ALDS with selective nerve root block. ⋯ Precision treatment of ALDS with selective nerve root block can achieve favorable clinical outcomes and good fusion with less surgical injury and low complications. Deformity correction is limited, which requires further study.

Nearly 9.2% of vestibular schwannomas (VS) recur. We evaluate the association of cell proliferative markers like MIB with recurrence in VS. ⋯ MIB index ≥3.5% is associated with recurrence in VS. Maximal diameter of the tumor and extent of resection are perhaps not associated with recurrence of VS.

In combined revascularization surgery for patients with moyamoya disease, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) during the postoperative acute phase is a rarely observed but severe complication. Its clinical features remain unclear because of its low incidence rate. The aim of this study was to clarify the clinical characteristics of immediate postoperative ICH. ⋯ The results suggest that older patients, with hemorrhagic presentation and greater postoperative BP increase, should be carefully managed to avoid postoperative ICH. Immediate hematoma evacuation may be effective in preventing devastating outcomes after postoperative ICH.

Sequestered disc fragments may present as a lesion with peripheral enhancement on magnetic resonance imaging. When located in the psoas muscle compartment, this finding could mimic an abscess. ⋯ Herniated disc fragments should be considered as a differential diagnosis of psoas abscesses. Coronal plane images may show the continuity of bilateral herniated disc fragments, mimicking psoas abscesses.

CSF Leak In Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma - Rare Sequelae Of Flutamide Induced Tumour Shrinkage.
Nonsteroidal androgen receptor blockers like flutamide have been described as an adjuvant treatment for preoperative shrinkage of extensive juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. We present a case of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak due to flutamide-induced tumor shrinkage. ⋯ CSF leak is a rare complication following flutamide therapy, especially if large areas of the anterior skull base are involved.
