Review Case Reports
Adersson lesion occurred in the lumbosacral segment of a young man: A case report and literature review.
Andersson lesion (AL) is not a rare complication of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), but it seldom occurs in single lumbosacral segments or young people. We present a case of a young patient with AS and AL between L5 and S1. ⋯ AL rarely occurs in the lumbosacral region or in young people and can be misdiagnosed as spinal tuberculosis. Surgical treatment of AL aims to relieve spinal nerve compression, reconstruct spinal stability, and restore sagittal balance. In view of the ambiguous anatomic landmark of patients with AS, we recommend surgery assisted with O-arm navigation, which clearly showed the entry point and guaranteed the accuracy of pedicle screw placements.

New York City is the epicenter of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the United States. Traumatic brain injury accounts for a significant proportion of admissions to our trauma center. We sought to characterize the effect of the pandemic on neurotraumas, given the cancellation of nonessential activities during the crisis. ⋯ A decrease in the frequency of neurotraumas was observed during the COVID-19 crisis concomitant with the increase in COVID-19 patients in the city. This trend began after the cancellation of nonessential activities and implementation of social distancing recommendations.

Microvascular Decompression Versus Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Trigeminal Neuralgia: A single institution experience.
Microvascular decompression (MVD) is the standard surgical procedure for patients with medically refractory trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has gained increasing popularity as a less invasive technique. We report our institution's outcome in the surgical treatment of TN (MVD vs. SRS), taking patient's age and gender into consideration. ⋯ Factoring in patients' age and gender, both MVD and SRS can achieve a favorable outcome for medically refractory TN, although BNI scores of IV and V were more common with SRS.

Does Fusion Affect the Anterior Bone Loss of Adjacent Cervical Disc Arthroplasty in Contiguous 2-Level Hybrid Surgery?
To investigate whether anterior bone loss (ABL) in cervical discarthroplasty (CDA) in 2-level hybrid surgery (HS) is affected by adjacent fusion in vivo compared with 1-level CDA alone. ⋯ ABL was common in both CDA and HS. Although HS had a lower incidence rate and degree than did CDA, the fusion location in HS did not affect the ABL of adjacent CDA.

We describe evolution of a developmental venous anomaly (DVA) over time in a patient with a complex intracranial vascular malformation. ⋯ This would be the first reported case of growth or evolution of a DVA in association with a dural arteriovenous fistula in an adult patient and highlights the dynamic nature of both the medullary venous and dural venous sinuses of the cerebral venous system, even into adulthood.
