Dural venous sinus stenting (VSS) is an effective intervention for patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) refractory to medical treatment. Our goal was to evaluate the efficacy by utilizing a large multi-institutional sample. ⋯ VSS is an effective and safe procedure resulting in significant improvement of headaches, visual impairment, dizziness, and tinnitus, acetazolamide and topiramate usage were lower after VSS in patients with IIH. The paucity of pre-VSS and post-VSS CSF shunt and ONSF procedure data does not provide enough evidence to establish significance.

State-of-the-art, minimally invasive endoscopic transcanal surgery of the internal auditory canal (IAC) sacrifices the cochlea with complete hearing loss. With a combination of the transcanal infracochlear and transmastoid retrolabyrinthine approaches, we aim to preserve hearing and enable minimally invasive surgical treatment of vestibular schwannoma. In this study, we investigate the anatomical indications and the feasibility of both approaches in dissections, in human whole head specimens. ⋯ The combined multiportal approach to the IAC is feasible with a good surgical exposure and full anatomical preservation of hearing. State-of-the-art surgical instruments in specimens with suitable anatomy are sufficient to perform this approach.

To compare rates of different fusion techniques using a nationwide database over the last decade and identify differences in complications and readmissions based on fusion technique. ⋯ Lumbar fusions have continued to increase over the last decade with an increasing proportion of interbody fusions. Complications and readmissions appear to be driven by patient comorbidity and not fusion technique.

To evaluate the usefulness and degree of perfusion abnormalities in pediatric head injury patients by using computed tomography perfusion (CTP) and to assess its co-relation with neurologic outcome based on Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended Pediatric revision (GOSE-P). ⋯ We conclude that CBF and MTT are 2 important radiologic parameters that can be used as prognostic indicators in pediatric head injury patients.

To compare radiographic parameters at adjacent segments before and after minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and assess relationships of radiographic changes between adjacent segments and fused level. ⋯ Performing minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion at the symptomatic index level does not worsen canal dimension of asymptomatic adjacent segments during short-term follow-up. It might be possible to improve canal dimension at adjacent segments by changing disc height or lordosis at the fused level via adjusting size and position of the interbody cage.
