The introduction of intraoperative computed tomography (iCT) could improve the surgical results of C1-C2 stabilization by Goel-Harms, especially in patients with complex deformities. This study aims to investigate the impact of iCT on the accuracy of C1-C2 screw positioning and to develop a score based on multiparametric analysis of imaging data (Cervical Screw Placement Accuracy score [CSPAs]). ⋯ The results suggest that the introduction of the iCT is associated with a consistent improvement of the accuracy in the positioning of the screws. A multiparametric score (CSPAs) could improve the assessment of screw placement.

To compare the outcomes of minimally invasive lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) with minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) and conventional open posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) for treating single-level spondylolisthesis at L4-L5. ⋯ In the treatment of spondylolisthesis of L4-L5, minimally invasive LLIF provided an effective surgical alternative to minimally invasive TLIF or conventional open PLIF, with the advantages of less blood loss, the faster start of postoperative walking, and comparable improvement in radiologic parameters.

C2-C3 Anterior Cervical Diskectomy and Fusion for Hangman's Fractures with C2 Posterior Dislocation: Technical Notes.
The overwhelming majority of hangman's fractures cause anterior dislocation of C2. Hangman's fracture with C2 posterior dislocation is extremely rare; only 1 pediatric case was reported in 2018 to date. This kind of injury cannot be cataloged using current classification schemes, and no established treatment recommendations exist. The purpose of this article is to report a rare case of a hangman's fracture with C2 posterior dislocation, which does not fit into existing classification systems and discuss management technical notes to avoid pitfalls. ⋯ C2-C3 anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion is recommended for hangman's fractures with C2 posterior dislocation. Traction before surgery is not recommended.

Detailed vasculature of vertebral artery dissecting aneurysms (VADAs) is often complicated owing to the irregular structure with the intimal flap/double lumen. Our aim was to present an endovascular reconstructive technique with assessment of detailed vasculature and the relationship between dissection and surrounding vessels using cone-beam computed tomography angiography (CBCT-A). ⋯ Target embolization of complex vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm with endovascular reconstructive technique with special reference to the detailed anatomy of dissection using CBCT-A would be useful for safe and effective treatment results.

Moyamoya disease (MMD) is an idiopathic cerebrovascular disease with unknown etiology. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and messenger RNA (mRNA) profiles in MMD remain unknown. In this current study, we aim to investigate lncRNA-mRNA co-expression pattern and their biological functions in superficial temporal artery (STA) of MMD. ⋯ In MMD patients, genes related to vascular remodeling including WNT5A and their regulators were aberrantly disrupted. These results will help elucidate the complicated pathogenic mechanism of MMD and develop potential therapeutic targets facilitating MMD angiogenesis in the future.
