We investigated the correlation between bone cement distribution and adjacent vertebral fractures (AVFs) after percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP). ⋯ The 3 evaluation methods reliably predict AVF after PVP, with the LAT method, PA and LAT method being more predictive than the PA method, but the LAT method is simpler, with bone cement being widely distributed after crossing the midline in the PA method and contact with the upper and lower end plates in the LAT method being a risk factor for AVF.

To compare the surgical and radiographic outcomes of occipitocervical fusion (OCF) with those of atlantoaxial fusion (AAF) in patients with cervical myelopathy caused by retroodontoid pseudotumors (ROPs). ⋯ Although OCF and AAF were similarly effective for cervical myelopathy with ROP, AAF was less invasive, and spinal alignment was better maintained postoperatively in AAF than OCF.

Complex cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) require a combined therapy of endovascular embolization and microsurgical resection to eliminate the lesion and maximize neurological protection, while a deliberate time interval might contribute to optimal clinical outcomes. The present study aimed to explore the feasibility of this paradigm. ⋯ The deliberately staged combined procedure of embolization and microsurgery might be a safe and efficacious strategy for Spetzler-Martin grade 2-5 AVMs, 4-5 days might be an appropriate staged time interval for ruptured AVMs, although further studies are needed to substantiate these findings.

We aimed to catalog past and present clinical trials on immunotherapy treatments for glioblastoma (GBM) and discover relevant trends in this field. ⋯ Our findings provide a comprehensive summary of the state of immunotherapy clinical trials for GBM, highlighting the evolving nature and growing scope of this field.

Augmented reality (AR) is becoming more common and slowly being integrated into the surgical field. With the continuous progression of navigation and visualization techniques, AR has great potential to improve surgical quality and safety. Nevertheless, the effects of AR on surgical outcomes and surgeons' well-being remains poorly studied. The present prospective controlled study aims to assess the effect of surgery assisted with AR smart glasses on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) deformity correction outcomes and surgeon fatigue. ⋯ Our controlled study has highlighted the enhanced spinal correction rates in AR-supported surgery and also improved surgeons' well-being and fatigue. These results endorse the adaptation of AR techniques to support AIS surgical correction.
