To evaluate the incidence, associated factors, clinical course, and management options of subdural hygroma in patients treated for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). ⋯ The clinical course of subdural hygromas in patients treated for aSAH is generally favorable, but occasionally these lesions show progressive enlargement with or without the appearance of midline shift, which requires active management.

The loss of in-person interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic warrants an investigation into what information is provided to applicants through neurosurgery residency program websites (NRPWs). This study examines NRPWs across the United States and Canada to determine what details are provided to applicants through their respective websites. ⋯ This study investigates NRPW content after the COVID-19 pandemic. We report broad variability in content provided by various neurosurgical training programs. Higher-ranked neurosurgery programs are more likely to include fellowship information, operating room virtual reality experience, and faculty research than lower-ranked programs.

Hounsfield unit for evaluating bone mineral density and strength: variations in measurement methods.
To assess the consistency and accuracy of various measurements of the Hounsfield unit (HU) in lumbar vertebrae. ⋯ An averaged HU value in axial multilevel is a comprehensive assessment of vertebral bone density. Using the HU value of the lumbar spine can help identify patients with osteoporosis, and the screening ability does not differ significantly across vertebral segments.

Mixed-reality (MxR) implementation in the neurosurgical operating room (OR) is emerging, but the impact of this technology on the nonsurgical OR staff has not been investigated yet. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the nonsurgical OR team's perception of the impact of intraoperative MxR use. ⋯ The use of 3-Dimensional interactive holograms of neurosurgical cases in the nonsterile intraoperative phase was not perceived as distractive, and neither was OR flow disruption by members of the nonsurgical OR staff. MxR was considered an adjunct to improve OR efficiency. A thorough understanding of the impact of MxR's implementation on the nonsurgical staff could lead to targeted improvement of the MxR use and, potentially, to increasing the quality of the teamwork.

The aim of this study was to retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 16 patients with cavernous sinus cholesteatomas, explore the surgical outcomes, and summarize the surgical experience. ⋯ Using "double-scope" technique, the subtemporal approach, a surgical strategy for cavernous sinus cholesteatomas, was sufficient to completely resect the tumors.
