Superior surgical skill improves surgical outcomes in endoscopic pituitary adenoma surgery. Video-based coaching programs, pioneered in professional sports, have shown promise in surgical training. In this study, we developed and assessed a video-based coaching program using artificial intelligence (AI) assistance. ⋯ We have developed a novel AI-assisted video surgical coaching program for endoscopic pituitary adenoma surgery - demonstrating its viability and impact on surgical performance. Early results also suggest improvement in patient outcomes. Future studies should be multicenter and longer term.

Intracranial epidermoid tumors (ETs) are rare, benign lesions that present significant challenges in neurosurgical management due to their propensity to encase vital neurovascular structures. We aimed to evaluate the impact of clinical, demographic, and tumor-specific factors on surgical decisions (gross total resection [GTR] vs. subtotal resection [STR]) and outcomes and identify patient clusters with distinct profiles and outcomes post-resection. ⋯ This study emphasizes the importance of tailored surgical strategies in managing intracranial ETs, advocating for GTR to optimize long-term outcomes where possible. Future prospective studies are essential to further refine treatment approaches, enhancing survival for ET patients.

The introduction of the electronic health record (EHR) has improved the collection and storage of patient information, enhancing clinical communication and academic research. However, EHRs are limited by data quality and the time-consuming task of manual data extraction. This study aimed to use process mapping to help identify critical data entry points within the clinical pathway for patients with vestibular schwannoma (VS) ideal for structured data entry and automated data collection to improve patient care and research. ⋯ This is a first use to our knowledge of a 2-stage methodology for process mapping the clinical pathway for patients undergoing VS resection. We identified critical data entry points that can be targeted for structured data entry and for automated data collection tools, positively impacting patient care and research.

To compare the 2-year reoperation rates for adjacent segment disease between patients with pelvic incidence-lumbar lordosis (PI-LL) mismatch postoperatively and patients with normal PI-LL measurements. ⋯ After propensity score matching, PI-LL mismatch was not associated with early reoperation for ASD in patients undergoing 1- to 2-level lumbar fusions for degenerative conditions.

To analyze the learning curve of novices in mastering short-term Spinal cord stimulation (st-SCS) for diabetic foot, evaluating the efficacy, safety, and difficulty of this technique. ⋯ St-SCS is beneficial for wound healing, pain relief, improving peripheral circulation, and improving sleep quality. Surgeons can master this simple and safe technique in about 9 cases.
