Endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is recommended for acute ischemic stroke due to large-vessel occlusion. However, approximately 50% of patients still experience poor outcomes after the procedure. This study aimed to assess whether a nomogram model that integrates computed tomography angiography radiomics features and clinical variables can predict EVT outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke. ⋯ Combining a radiomics nomogram with clinical predictors could effectively forecast EVT outcomes in patients with acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion stroke.

This study explores the vital elements of patient satisfaction in hospital settings, with an emphasis on the aspects of service quality and patient-hospital interaction. It looks at how patients perceive several aspects of service quality, such as assurance, tangibility, empathy, responsiveness, and consistency. ⋯ The study emphasizes the value of excellent patient-hospital interactions and the importance of communication, empathy, and trust-building in promoting these outcomes.

Glioma is the most common malignant brain tumor in neurosurgery. Bevacizumab (BEV) is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits tumors by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor and reducing tumor angiogenesis. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of BEV combined with temozolomide (TMZ) in glioma, we performed a meta-analysis. ⋯ The combination of TMZ and BEV can improve PFS as well as overall response rate in patients and has no benefit on OS. At the same time, the adverse reactions during the combination of the 2 drugs were acceptable.

There has been an increased focus on patient involvement in health care worldwide, with studies showing that involving patients in their treatment and care is associated with positive outcomes. However, there is a dearth of knowledge about inpatient preferences and experiences of involvement in neurosurgery in Scandinavian countries. This study aimed to identify inpatients' preferences regarding their involvement in their treatment and the extent to which they experienced being involved in their treatment and care during admission. ⋯ The patients mostly preferred shared decision-making about their treatment during hospitalization and generally reported high involvement in their treatment and care. The results showed a desire for improved information sharing and dialog among healthcare professionals, patients, and relatives.

To determine the association between Modic changes (MCs) with other magnetic resonance imaging parameters and clinical symptoms of cervical degenerative disc disease. ⋯ The factor predicting MC type 2 at the C3-C7 cervical levels is submaximal damage to the endplate. The MC rate is increased due to MC type 1 and MC type 2. MC types at the cervical levels may not represent consecutive stages of the same process.
