Coding for neurosurgical procedures is a complex process that is dynamically changing year to year, through the annual introduction and removal of codes and modifiers. The authors hoped to elucidate if publicly available artificial intelligence (AI) could offer solutions for neurosurgeons with regard to coding. ⋯ The ability of publicly available AIs to successfully code for neurosurgical procedures holds great promise in the future. Future development of AI should focus on improving accuracy with regard to CPT codes and providing supporting documentation for its decisions. Improvement on the existing capabilities of AI platforms can allow for increased operational efficiency and cost savings for practices.

Viruses are critical for the regulation of cancer development and for therapy. Human adenovirus C (HadVC) has been detected in central nervous system and glioma tissue. The objective of the present study was the development of a robust prognostic model based on HadVC infection (HadVCi)-relevant genes. ⋯ The HadVCi score could be an effective tool for survival prediction and treatment guidance for patients with glioma.

Systematic Review and Case of Thrombectomy for Pediatric Stroke Due to Myxoma Embolism.
Stroke presentation secondary to a cardiac myxoma thromboembolism is rare in the pediatric population. Because of such rarity, the reported cases in the literature are primarily case reports. Additionally, general pediatric stroke management lacks evidence-based guidelines because of its low incidence and lack of clinical trials. In pediatric strokes identified from a cardiac myxoma, the incidence favors boys with the classical presentation of unilateral weakness and aphasia. We present a pediatric patient who presented with strokelike symptoms secondary to an intracranial embolus from a previously undiagnosed cardiac myxoma. ⋯ We describe an urgent mechanical thrombectomy and share preoperative and postoperative images and pathology slides confirming a stroke from myxoma origin. We provide added insight in the safe use of mechanical thrombectomy as treatment for pediatric strokes secondary to a thromboembolism.

Research on variables associated with chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) resolution following middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAE) is limited. This study investigated the clinical utility of age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index (ACCI) and modified 5-item Frailty Index (mFI - 5) for predicting cSDH resolution following MMAE. ⋯ ACCI and mFI - 5 moderately predict MMAE resolution and may aid in medical decision-making.

The correlation between hyperdense basilar artery sign (HDBAS) and outcome after acute basilar artery occlusion (ABAO) is debated. Our objective was to determine the usefulness of HDBAS in predicting the outcomes of patients with ABAO after endovascular treatment (EVT), intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), and best medical treatment (BMT). ⋯ HDBAS may not be a reliable predictor of outcomes for patients with ABAO, regardless of whether they received EVT, IVT, or BMT.
