Several studies are currently exploring the anatomical origins of superior longitudinal fascicule (SLF) 2 and SLF-3, which are components of the frontoparietal network. This study aimed to achieve optimum visualization of the anatomical corridors of these fibers using Photoshop filters. ⋯ The visual descriptions of the dissections were enriched after using Photoshop to avoid monotony. Increasing the visual quality with Photoshop features enable us to gain a better understanding of these pathways. Additionally, it facilitates the comprehension of the symptoms associated with pathology. We hope these results will further aid in reducing the occurrence of postoperative complications.

The triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is regarded as a reliable alternative indicator for measuring insulin resistance. We investigated the association between the prognosis of patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)and the TyG index, explored the potential of the TyG index as a new biomarker for forecasting the outcomes of SAH patients, and explored independent risk factors for predicting the condition of SAH patients. ⋯ Patients with SAH may benefit from using the TyG index as a predictive method. In our clinical practice, the TyG index is beneficial for managing diseases and making decisions. More research is required to determine if improved TyG index control would lead to better clinical results in the future.

Posterior Transtemporal Approach to a Thalamic Cavernous Malformation: 2-Dimensional Operative Video.
Cavernous malformations (CMs) account for 10%-15% of all vascular malformations and represent the second most common type of cerebral vascular lesion.1 They typically occur in the cerebral subcortex or white matter.2 CMs located in the thalamus are rare.3 When we isolate the group of thalamic CMs, we find a bleeding risk of >5% per year, with a rebleeding rate exceeding 60%, often occurring within 1 year of the initial bleeding.1 The deep location and proximity to eloquent brain regions make thalamic CMs challenging for neurosurgeons.4,5 Surgeons can access the posterolateral thalamus through various surgical approaches, such as transcallosal transventricular, supracerebellar transtentorial, intraparietal sulcus, and transcortical methods. Selecting the best surgical approach requires considerable expertise, considering the patient's preoperative condition and the lesion's location.6-12 We discuss a complex case involving a 24-year-old patient with a right thalamic cavernoma and a history of 3 prior bleeding events. ⋯ The patient consented to the procedure and publication of images. We demonstrate how the transtemporal posterior trajectory provides an optimal working corridor for safely removing this cavernous malformation without introducing new deficits.

Like many low- and-middle-income countries in Africa, documented assessment of the neurosurgical workforce, equipment, infrastructure, and scope of service delivery in Nigeria is lacking. This study aimed to assess the capacity for the delivery of neurosurgical services in Nigeria. ⋯ The availability of workforce, infrastructure, equipment, and supplies needed to provide optimal neurosurgical care is uneven in many institutions in Nigeria. Although major strides have been made in recent years, targeted collaborative interventions at local, national, regional, and international levels will further improve neurosurgical service delivery in Nigeria and will have positive ripple effects on the rest of the healthcare system.

Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is a severe condition that requires rapid diagnosis and treatment. Automated methods for calculating ICH volumes can reduce human error and improve clinical decisioPlease provide professional degrees (e.g., PhD, MD) for the corresponding author.n-making. A novel automated method has been developed that is comparable to the ABC/2 method in terms of speed and accuracy while providing more accurate volumetric data. ⋯ The study introduces a novel automated algorithm for calculating the volumes of various ICHs (EDH, and SDH) within CT scans. The algorithm showed excellent agreement with manual calculations and outperformed the commonly used ABC/2 method, which tends to overestimate ICH volume. The automated algorithm offers a more accurate, efficient, and time-saving approach to quantifying ICH, EDH, and SDH volumes, making it a valuable tool for clinical evaluation and decision-making.
