Radiotherapy (RT) is a feasible adjuvant therapeutic option for managing intracranial pathologies. One of the late complications of RT that frequently develops within months following RT is radiation necrosis (RN). Corticosteroids are the first-line therapeutic option for RNs; however, in case of unfavorable outcomes or intolerability, several other options, including bevacizumab, laser interstitial thermal therapy, surgery, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Our goal was to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of the application of HBOT in RNs following RT and help physicians make decisions based on the latest data in the literature. ⋯ HBOT is a feasible and effective therapeutic option in steroid-refractory RNs and is associated with favorable outcomes and a low rate of side effects.

Michel Salmon was a prominent person in the field of plastic surgery during the early 20th century. His pioneering work contributed significantly to our understanding of human anatomy, particularly with the identification of the artery of Salmon (AOS). The objective of this study is to thoroughly investigate the AOS by conducting a comprehensive literature review, providing insights into its anatomy and surgical implications. ⋯ The AOS is sometimes vital in neurosurgery, facilitating precise interventions and serving as a conduit in suboccipital bypass surgeries. Understanding its variations is essential for neurosurgeons, showcasing ongoing advancements in patient care.

We conducted a systematic review on pediatric intraventricular gliomas to survey the patient population, tumor characteristics, management, and outcomes. ⋯ Pediatric intraventricular gliomas correlate with parenchymal pediatric gliomas in terms of age at diagnosis and general outcomes. The mainstay of management is complete surgical excision and more recent studies report longer overall survival rates and less cranial nerve complications.

Diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) encompass a set of tumors, and those tumors with H3K27 M mutation carry a poor prognosis. In recent years, machine learning (ML)-based radiomics have shown promising results in predicting gene mutation status non-invasively. Therefore, this study aims to comprehensively evaluate the diagnostic performance of ML-based magnetic resonance imaging radiomics in predicting H3K27 M mutation status in DMG patients. ⋯ Non-invasive prediction of H3K27 M mutation status in patients with DMGs using magnetic resonance imaging radiomics is a promising tool with good diagnostic performance. However, the pooled metrics had a wide confidence interval, which required further studies to enhance ML algorithms' accuracy and facilitate their integration into daily clinical practice.
