To explore the predictive value of transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) combined with quantitative electroencephalogram (QEEG) in delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) caused by aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). ⋯ Patients with aSAH complicated by DCI have relatively higher MBFV of middle cerebral artery and ADR. Combined use of the 2 indicators can provide reference for early prediction of DCI in aSAH patients.

There is an emerging role for minimally invasive magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MRgLITT) in the treatment of pediatric epilepsy refractory to medication. To date, predictors of MRgLITT success have not been established in a sizeable singular experience. Correspondingly, the aim of this study was to elucidate if previous surgical history predicts MRgLITT success in this setting. ⋯ Based on our institutional experience, patients with previous open surgery history may experience longer length of hospitalization after MRgLITT for pediatric epilepsy and lesser response in seizure-freedom within the first year but with non-inferior seizure freedom by the second year.

Patient-facing websites serve as essential platforms for disseminating information, engaging with patients, and increasing access to neurosurgical resources and services. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are at the forefront of issues facing the field of neurosurgery, especially concerning race and gender disparities in regards to providers in the field. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that patient-facing websites of neurosurgical departments are an area of improvement in regards to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the field of neurosurgery. Disparities are noted in regards to the racial depiction of patients and further call to attention racial and gender disparities in the field of neurosurgery.

Calcified lumbar disc herniations (CLDH) causing calcified ventral stenosis pose a therapeutic challenge to the treating surgeon due to their neural adhesions, location, and hardness. ⋯ Transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy is a complete, safe, and efficacious procedure in patients with CLDH with earlier recovery considering the surgery is performed with the patient being awake.

Patients with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LMC) experience a poor prognosis and rapid progression, and cerebrospinal fluid drainage (CSFD) is used to manage intracranial hypertension and hydrocephalus in LMC patients. This study aims to describe a novel discovery of preoperative radiological features in patients who underwent CSFD for LMC. ⋯ Patients with radiological features of cerebellar enhancement have shorter postoperative survival than other patients; however, those with supratentorial cerebral edema, especially features of DESH, could benefit from CSFD. Patients with cerebellar swelling should avoid undergoing CSFD.
