A systematic review of the validity and reliability of patient-reported experience measures.
To identify patient-reported experience measures (PREMs), assess their validity and reliability, and assess any bias in the study design of PREM validity and reliability testing. ⋯ Careful consideration should be given when selecting PREMs, particularly as seven of the 10 validity and reliability criteria were not undertaken in ≥50 percent of the PREMs. Testing PREM responsiveness should be prioritized for the application of PREMs where the end user is measuring change over time. Assessing measurement error/agreement of PREMs is important to understand the clinical relevancy of PREM scores used in a health care evaluation capacity.

Review Meta AnalysisThe effectiveness of chronic care management for heart failure: meta-regression analyses to explain the heterogeneity in outcomes.
To support decision making on how to best redesign chronic care by studying the heterogeneity in effectiveness across chronic care management evaluations for heart failure. ⋯ Chronic care management significantly reduces mortality. Positive effects on hospitalization and quality of life were shown, however, with substantial heterogeneity in effectiveness. This heterogeneity is not explained by study quality, length of follow-up, or the number of chronic care model components. More attention to the development and implementation of chronic care management is needed to support informed decision making on how to best redesign chronic care.

ReviewElucidating the role of place in health care disparities: the example of racial/ethnic residential segregation.
To develop a conceptual framework for investigating the role of racial/ethnic residential segregation on health care disparities. ⋯ Increasing evidence indicates that racial/ethnic residential segregation is a key factor driving place-based health care inequalities. Closer attention to address research gaps has implications for advancing and strengthening the literature to better inform effective interventions and policy-based solutions.

ReviewDo professional interpreters improve clinical care for patients with limited English proficiency? A systematic review of the literature.
To determine if professional medical interpreters have a positive impact on clinical care for limited English proficiency (LEP) patients. ⋯ Published studies report positive benefits of professional interpreters on communication (errors and comprehension), utilization, clinical outcomes and satisfaction with care.
