Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Burden of illness in fibromyalgia patients with comorbid depression.
To assess the burden of fibromyalgia (FM) in patients with FM taking antidepressant medication for comorbid depression. ⋯ This study demonstrates the significant burden of FM in patients with comorbid depression treated with an antidepressant.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Web/Internet-based telemonitoring of a randomized controlled trial evaluating the time-integrated effects of a 24-week multicomponent intervention on key health outcomes in patients with fibromyalgia.
The aims of the study were to assess the efficacy of a multicomponent intervention and evaluate the feasibility and user acceptance of an internet-based home telemedical surveillance system for the evaluation of pain and other key health outcomes in patients with fibromyalgia (FM). ⋯ The multicomponent approach to FM was effective in treating the key symptoms and maintaining the improvements in the short term, and telemonitoring proved to be an easyto-use solution for patient-centred data acquisition.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Six-and 12-month follow-up of an interdisciplinary fibromyalgia treatment programme: results of a randomised trial.
To assess the efficacy of a 6-week interdisciplinary treatment that combines coordinated psychological, medical, educational, and physiotherapeutic components (PSYMEPHY) over time compared to standard pharmacologic care. ⋯ An interdisciplinary treatment for FM was associated with improvements in quality of life, pain, physical function, anxiety and depression, and pain coping strategies up to 12 months after the intervention.

The effect of dietary glutamate on fibromyalgia and irritable bowel symptoms.
To examine the effects of a challenge with monosodium glutamate (MSG) as compared to placebo on the symptoms of fibromyalgia (FM), in participants who initially experienced >30% remission of symptoms on an excitotoxin elimination diet. ⋯ These findings suggest that dietary glutamate may be contributing to FM symptoms in some patients. Future research on the role of dietary excitotoxins in FM is warranted.

Rességuier method and Qi Gong sequentially integrated in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome.
In fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), the Rességuier Method (RM) and Qi Gong (QG) can be efficacious. QG aims to improve posture, respiration, concentration, while RM aims to obtain patient awareness and control of pain perception. We evaluate 2 protocols integrating RM and QG in FMS. ⋯ In FMS, both protocols improve pain, disability, quality of life, tenderness, anxiety. RM also ameliorates sleep and QG improves depression. Sequential integration of RM and QG is efficacious in FMS.
