Sepsis is life-threatening and might potentially progress from dysregulation to severe organ dysfunction. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as a global health priority. The mortality rate for sepsis has decreased in many countries, and this is credited to the earlier recognition and treatment of this complex syndrome. ⋯ The use of novel therapies and alternative adjunctive therapies has tremendous potential in sepsis management. Debates amongst intensivists exist with the creation of updated sepsis guidelines and advances in treatment. The present review article provides both a summary and recommendations based on the latest clinical evidence and controversies around sepsis management.

Multicenter StudyPoint-of-Care Ultrasound Training Among Intensivists in Singapore: A Multicentre Survey.
Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) has become essential in the management of critically ill patients. Multiple POCUS training courses exist, but are not widely adopted in Singapore. Given the discordance between training supply and demand, we aimed to uncover the learning needs and barriers among intensive care medicine (ICM) doctors locally. ⋯ ICM doctors who responded were supportive of a local POCUS training programme. The programme's curriculum should address the learning needs of the majority of learners, with diaphragm/muscle ultrasound being the top unmet need. The programme would need to develop supervisors and be as affordable as possible.

Knowledge and Confidence Level Among Emergency Healthcare Workers in Airway Management and Resuscitation of Suspected COVID-19 Patients: A Cross Sectional Study in Malaysia.
This study aims to evaluate the knowledge and confidence of emergency healthcare workers (EHCW) in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ EHCW possessed good knowledge in airway and resuscitation of COVID-19 patients, but differed between designations and LOS. A longer LOS was associated with better confidence, but there were some aspects in airway management and resuscitation that needed improvement.

DORSCON Orange: An Approach to Challenges in a Busy Antenatal Diagnostic Centre in the Midst of a Global Pandemic.
The WHO declared the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) a global pandemic on 11 March 2020. Lessons from SARS epidemic led Singapore to develop stringent infection control protocols in preparation for future pandemics. However, unlike SARS, COVID-19 appears to be more transmissible and is predicted to continue for longer. ⋯ A key balance must be struck between keeping patients and healthcare workers safe while being able to provide quality and prompt obstetric care. Our Antenatal Diagnostic Centre (ADC) in KKH developed new strategies to adapt to the pandemic when the national Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) was raised from yellow to orange on 7 February 2020. In this paper, we discuss our clinical workflow to reduce the risk of transmission amongst patients and staff while minimising disruption to our services.
