The present study investigated the role of redox balance, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and apoptosis in Tramadol (Tra)-induced testicular toxicity. ⋯ The present results suggest that Tra exposure may lead to reproductive toxicity due to the loss of the antioxidant defence system, mitochondrial dysfunction, and activation of inflammatory and apoptotic pathways (Tab. 4, Fig. 5, Ref. 63).

To highlight the components of stripping operation of the great saphenous vein and to offer a proposal for guidelines. ⋯ While the patients who were operated on for the second time regained their health, others became the epitome of hopelessness and mistrust. They lost their confidence in medicine and surgery. If a stripping operation is planned, it should be performed in full accordance with the surgical procedure of stripping as mentioned in the classical textbooks. Guidelines should contain expressions reminding of ethical issues. This will prevent the dereliction of the duty and the loss of money, labor, time, health, patients' confidence in surgery (Tab. 1, Fig. 1, Ref. 18) Keywords: ethics, malpractice, quality of life, venous, saphenous, stripping.

Bacillus anthracis is a causative agent of zoonotic anthrax disease. In the last years, significant progress in therapy and diagnosis of anthrax was made. Concurrently, knowledge about anthrax progression, molecular pathology and release of anthrax toxin during the disease has improved. This review covers the recent progress in this field. ⋯ Currently, the microorganism is considered one of the top biological warfare agents due to lethality, long term stability of spores, easy dissemination and production. The recent research is focused on countermeasures suitable for reduction of consequences by a misuse of the microorganism in form of biological weapon (Tab. 3, Fig. 1, Ref. 101). COVID-19 is not fully known and causes severe inflammation and cytokine storm. It has many symptoms, such as: fever, sore throat, headache, dyspnoea, and diarrhoea. Arbidol was used in the treatment of COVID19, which was the most critical health problem in the world. However, the desired recovery was not achieved with Arbidol. Many countries still use this drug in the treatment of COVID19. ⋯ The similarity between hemagglutinin and spike proteins were reported due to the fact that inhibition properties of Arbidol and its 39 analogues were examined in detail against hemagglutinin esterase and spike glycoproteins. CID 1070884 and CID 1207786 were found to be more active against hemagglutinin esterase than in Arbidol, while these compounds were inactive against spike glycoproteins. The interaction mechanism was clarified between arbidol and spike proteins. Phenylalanine, tyrosine, glycine, lysine, and aspartic acid were found to be the headliner amino acids in the interactions between Arbidol and binding domains of spike glycoproteins in the SARS-CoV2 (Tab. 3, Fig. 8, Ref. 28).

To compare clinical parameters and quality of life in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) at the time of diagnosis, at the time of LenusPro pump implantation and during intravenous treptostinil treatment. ⋯ In patients who do not tolerate subcutaneous treptostinil treatment, the use of the LenusPro implantable pump results in a significant improvement in quality of life with an acceptable safety profile (Tab. 2, Fig. 2, Ref. 19).
