Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women worldwide. Our aim is to evaluate the importance of immunotherapy in breast cancer cases by using PD-L1 expression and to determine the effect of Maspin expression and lymphocytic density on predicting the prognosis. ⋯ In our study, PD-L1 expression was detected in breast cancer, and was associated with triple negativity and high grade. Our results show that the Maspin expression and lymphocyte density are associated with the prognosis (Tab. 5, Fig. 4, Ref. 44).

The aim of this study was to explain the demographic data, comorbidity and laboratory findings of our first cases in COVID-19 pneumonia in our country. ⋯ We detected that comorbidities, which were seen at COVID-19 disease differ according to the patients age. Besides that D-dimer, ferritin and CRP outcomes were particularly high and had a significant correlation with COVID-19 severity (Tab. 3, Fig. 2, Ref. 25). The purpose of this research was to examine the suppressing effect of caffeic acid (CA) on colon cancer cells triggered by an overdose of H2O2, and molecular mechanisms involved. ⋯ In light of all these findings, the antioxidant use should be paid attention to as it could decrease the level of ROS, and in turn decrease the apoptotic cell death which is an unwanted situation in the setting of cancer remedy. Overall, these data revealed that CA can suppress apoptosis in HT-29 cells triggered by an overdose of H2O2 (Fig. 5, Ref. 37).

Nesfatin-1 is an antiiflammatory, antiapoptotic, and anorexigenic peptide that has many roles in cardiomyocyte metabolism and viability. Inflammation plays an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the alterations in serum nesfatin-1 levels of the patients undergoing coronary artery bypass operation due to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. ⋯ This study revealed that serum nesfatin-1 levels increased significantly in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass operation. Nesfatin-1 level may have a role in assessing myocardial perfusion during the follow-up of these patients (Tab. 4, Fig. 4, Ref. 25).

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of morphine in chronic manner on neuroglial differentiation in PC12 cells. ⋯ It can be concluded that low concentrations of morphine in chronic manner stimulate the neuroglial-like differentiation by activating protein expression and survival-promoting signaling in PC12 cells with opioid receptor-dependent mechanism (Fig. 8, Ref. 36).
