To evaluate the clinical effects of continuous intravenous infusion with high-dose furosemide on early acute kidney injury (AKI) complicated with acute lung edema. ⋯ For patients with early AKI complicated with acute pulmonary edema who cannot be cured by diuretic agent at routine dose, high-dose furosemide increases urine output and improves success rate.

Fibrous Dysplasia (FD) is a developmental disorder of bone that can affect one bone (monostotic type) or multiple bones (polyostotic type). The disease can be associated with hyperpigmentation and endocrinological disorders. In general, FD is found in teenagers, in the second decade of life. ⋯ The bony enlargement was extending from median mandible to the crestal marginal level. Surgical shaving and recountering of mandible through the delicate preservation of the mental nerve in the left side of mandible was carried out. The aim of this report is to present the conservative treatment as sufficient treatment modality for the treatment of FD during puberty.

To determine the role of montelukast - a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) - in improving the quality of life (QOL) and asthma control of adult patients with mild to moderate persistent asthma. ⋯ The role of montelukast in improving QOL of adult patients with mild to moderate persistent asthma is quite beneficial. It improves patient quality of life. It has the ease of once daily oral administration and also eradicates side effects associated with long-term adherence to steroids.

An admission criterion is one of the key indicators of academic success. The purpose of admission process is to select best candidates for the particular program who will complete the program successfully. Thus rigorous admission criteria can predict academic performance, decrease failure rate and successful completion of degree. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between various variables in the existing admission criteria and academic performance. ⋯ The study concludes to use integrated admission criteria for the selection of students and bring changes in the traditional admission process.

To determine health related quality of life (HRQOL) of medical students and its correlation with their academic performance. ⋯ Mental health of medical students is suboptimal, especially among female students. Students with better physical health have better academic performance.
