To investigate the role of concomitant Internal Limiting Membrane (ILM) peeling during surgery for macula off Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (RRD) in preventing postoperative Epiretinal Membrane (ERM) formation; and its effect on the visual acuity. ⋯ ILM peeling during vitrectomy for RRD prevents the formation of macular ERM post-operatively. This may reduce the need of a second vitrectomy. However, visual outcomes were comparable to the non-ILM peeling vitrectomy.

To justify the allocation of human and financial resources, this study aims to identify multiple stakeholders' views of medical education research priorities in Pakistan for the next five years. ⋯ The study identified top MER priority areas as continuous professional development, assessment and communication skills. Some areas unique to the current study include admissions, fostering critical thinking, Islamic values in professionalism and ethics. The study provides evidence-base for decision-making about allocating time and funds for MER in Pakistan.

To assess burnout in medical educators and to identify factors associated with it. ⋯ In this study medical educators were found to have quite high level of burnout. The early career medical educators feels emotionally exhausted, with low sense of personal accomplishment.

A comparison of the initial stability of narrow- and standard-diameter implants (SDIs) placed in Type-I and Type-IV bone-blocks is not yet reported. The aim was to evaluate in-vitro the influence of implant diameter on the initial stability of narrow- and standard-diameter implants (SDIs) placed in simulated Type-I and Type-IV bone-blocks. ⋯ The NDIs and SDIs show comparable initial-stability when positioned in simulated Type-I and Type-IV bone blocks.

This study was conducted to explore the faculty's opinion regarding factors impeding practical transition from traditional to integrated medical curriculum at the outset and a few years after the process. ⋯ Several factors if ignored can result in failure of integration of curriculum in undergraduate medical colleges. Relevantly appropriate policies should be outlined by the regulatory body to ensure the control on the impediments.
