Oliguric patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) often requires an internal jugular vein or femoral venous catheter to establish vascular access for emergency hemodialysis. Puncture with catheterization (PC) of the right internal jugular vein (RIJV) is relatively simple and is often the first choice for hemodialysis catheters insertion. ⋯ We did not perform open surgery or endovascular interventions, and instead, the HDC was retained in that place for four weeks and then directly removed without surgery. The patient did not experience any problems, such as bleeding or hematoma, and has been receiving hemodialysis from femoral catheter subsequently since then.

To evaluate the effect of butylphthalide combined with oxiracetam on cognitive function, intellectual recovery and serum inflammatory factors in patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction. ⋯ Butylphthalide combined with oxiracetam has an obvious curative effect in the treatment of patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction. It is a safe and effective therapeutic option that can significantly recover cognitive function and intelligence, improve cerebral blood flow perfusion and reduce inflammatory factors, without an obvious increase in adverse reactions.

Pachydermodactyly, mimicker of rheumatoid hands, presents in a patient with Tuberous Sclerosis.
Pachydermodactyly (PDD) is a rare benign condition characterized by painless soft tissue swelling of small joints of hands. The most common presentation is bilateral Symmetrical swelling of proximal interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joint similar to Rheumatoid arthritis. The etiology of this disease is unknown, and it sometimes can coexist with other diseases. We present here a case of PDD coexisting with Tuberous Sclerosis, an autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by of formation of multiple benign multisystem tumors.

To investigate the correlation between systemic immune inflammatory (SII) index, serum interleukin-35 (IL-35) and high mobility Group-Box one (HMGB-1) with the severity and prognosis of sepsis. ⋯ SII, IL-35 and HMGB-1 are remarkably correlated with the severity and prognosis of patients with sepsis. With the increasing in SII, IL-35 and HMGB-1 levels, patients will suffer from severe disease progression and poor prognosis, which require more clinical attention.
