To investigate the correlation between systemic immune inflammatory (SII) index, serum interleukin-35 (IL-35) and high mobility Group-Box one (HMGB-1) with the severity and prognosis of sepsis. ⋯ SII, IL-35 and HMGB-1 are remarkably correlated with the severity and prognosis of patients with sepsis. With the increasing in SII, IL-35 and HMGB-1 levels, patients will suffer from severe disease progression and poor prognosis, which require more clinical attention.

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH) combined with hemoperfusion for the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) complicated with acute kidney injury (AKI). ⋯ The outcomes of patients with MM complicated with AKI treated with CVVH and hemoperfusion differ significantly from those of the patients treated only with CVVH. Combining CVVH and hemoperfusion helps to improve the efficacy of the treatment, promotes renal function recovery, and improves the levels of serum globulin and ESR.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of tear and repair of the lateral meniscal posterior root (LMPR) on the patellofemoral contact pressure of the knee after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructed. ⋯ The posterior root tear and repair of the lateral meniscus could have an influence on patellofemoral contact stress of the knee after ACL reconstruction at 30° of knee flexion.

To determine the effect of Remdesivir on liver enzymes and renal functions in SARS-CoV-2 patients. ⋯ Only three patients developed adverse effects resulting in stopping of Remdesivir, however these were reversible on stopping the drug. Therefore, Remdesivir is a relatively safe drug and well tolerated in SARS-CoV-2 patients.

This study aims to develop and assess the content validity along with the reliability of a Professionalism Assessment Tool (PAT) with an intention to measure professionalism among undergraduate medical students. ⋯ The final tool developed for assessment of professionalism had 48 items on a seven point Likert like scale, across five Subscales. Results showed that it was determined as a useful tool in assessing professionalism in undergraduate medical students to generate reliable results for valid decision-making.
