To investigate the correlation of antinuclear antibody (ANA), antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) and anticardiolipin antibody (ACA) with the degree of the neurological defect and cerebrovascular stenosis in patients with cerebral infarction. ⋯ The positive rates of ANA, ACA and ANCA antibodies were higher in patients with ACI, which was closely correlated with the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis and neurological deficit.

To explore the relationship between Monoclonal Gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and Multiple Myeloma (MM) based on bioinformatics methods. ⋯ The progression of MGUS to MM is driven by aberrant cytokine secretion, which leads to inflammation immune dysfunction, and dysregulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

To explore the experiences of struggling undergraduate medical students (mentees) with formal mentoring program at a private medical college in Rawalpindi. ⋯ Majority of the mentees were satisfied with the formal mentoring program. Mentoring focuses on personal and professional development of all medical students. In addition to the useful suggestions provided by the mentees, there is a need for the addition of specific strategies to deal with students struggling with personal or professional problems.

This randomized trial aims to compare the clinical, and radiological outcomes between plaster cast and volar plating for distal radius fractures (DRF) in the elderly at six months, and one-year. ⋯ The results of the trial have shown that plating and casting are equally effective in achieving satisfactory patient reported and clinical outcomes at intermediate and final follow-up restoring patient satisfaction.Trial registration: The trial is registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry. The trial registration number is ChiCTR2000032843, and the URL is: http://www.chictr.org.cn/searchprojen.aspx.

Serous ovarian carcinoma (SOC) is characterized by extreme genomic instability, chromosomal rearrangements and copy number variations (CNVs) leading to the development of early metastasis and chemo-resistance. The present study was designed to observe the role of CNVs of Cyclin E1 (CCNE1) and Epithelial cell transforming sequence- 2 (ECT2) genes and their encoded proteins in predicting the chemotherapeutic response in SOC patients. ⋯ The copy number variations of CCNE1 and ECT2 genes and their protein expression are positively associated with chemotherapeutic response in SOC patients.
