To compare the functional and radiological outcomes of treatment of volar Barton's fractures using T plate with and without distal end screws. ⋯ Both treatment approaches appear to yield comparable outcomes in terms of clinical assessment, Stewart scores, and fracture healing, with a potential advantage for T-plate without distal end screw in callus formation at the 90th day.Trial registration: IRCT20221231056999N1.

To examine the potential difference in survival and risk of death between asymptomatic and symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 patients, controlled by age and gender for all the attendance in hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. ⋯ The available data and statistical results suggest that asymptomatic and young patients are generally less susceptible to initial infection with SARS-CoV-2 and therefore have a lower risk of death. Our regression models show that uncured asymptomatic patients generally have poorer short-term survival than their uncured symptomatic counterparts. The association between gender and survival outcome was not significant.

We aimed to evaluate medical school students' knowledge and approaches regarding telehealth. ⋯ The majority of medical faculty students lack sufficient knowledge about telemedicine and believe that education on this topic should be included in the medical curriculum. It is suggested that incorporating pre-clinical courses on telemedicine and providing internship opportunities in practical settings would effectively address this gap.

Ataxia is usually caused by cerebellar pathology or a decrease in vestibular or proprioceptive afferent input to the cerebellum. It is characterized by uncoordinated walking, truncal instability, body or head tremors, uncontrolled coordination of the hands, dysarthria, and aberrant eye movements. The objective of the current investigation was to identify the underlying genetic cause of the hereditary ataxia that affects the Pakistani population. ⋯ The current study broadens the mutation spectrum of several hereditary ataxia types and suggests the next generation sequencing in conjunction with clinical research for a more accurate diagnosis of overlapping phenotypes of this disorder in the Pakistani population.
