In medical education, the challenging constructs of emotional intelligence and professionalism are increasingly being addressed worldwide and seem to share common characteristic components. The objective of this study was to determine the association between emotional intelligence and professionalism as perceived and self-reported by medical students and to explore the gender difference in these two variables. ⋯ Increase in emotional intelligence is associated with the increase in professionalism among medical students.

To design a deep learning-based model for early screening of diabetic retinopathy, predict the condition, and provide interpretable justifications. ⋯ Utilizing image-level annotations, we implemented a method for detecting diabetic retinopathy through deep learning and provided interpretable justifications to assist clinicians in diagnosis.

Medical and health care traverse geographical boundaries in the form of "Medical Tourism" with patients travelling from low and middle-income countries to developed nations and vice versa as well. Affordable medical care is also attracting patients from developed nations to countries like India, Thailand, UAE and others with international accreditation playing a key role. This also yields economic benefits for the recipient countries. ⋯ For this, literature search was conducted using google, Bing, google scholar, PubMed, web of science to search engines and data bases. One hundred eighty articles, reports & publications were downloaded of which 25 non-English & duplicates, and 75 irrelevant records were excluded. Hence, 34 references of relevant English language articles, publications, reports and online resources were utilized for the review.

The objective of the study was to assess the efficacy and safety profile of 2nd line Anti TB drugs in DR TB patients in a tertiary care hospital of South Punjab. ⋯ The study findings suggest the efficacy of second-line anti-TB drug regimens in achieving sputum smear conversion and positive treatment outcomes in patients with MDR-TB. However, the occurrence of ADRs highlights the need for careful monitoring and management during treatment.
