Primary anastomosis and stoma are the main options in the restoration of intestinal continuity following urgent sigmoidectomy in sigmoid volvulus (SV). Our purpose was to evaluate the outcomes of both techniques in a 1,083-patient SV series. ⋯ Primary anastomosis has some advantages in comparison to stoma in the restoration of intestinal continuity following urgent sigmoidectomy in SV. However, stoma is generally preferred in patients with bad health status, old age, and risky bowel. New prospective randomized clinical studies or matched analyses may help to clarify the optimal choice.

To assess the knowledge, attitude and perception of post-graduate residents of neurosciences towards research ethics (RE) and research ethics committees (RECs). ⋯ Our research uncovered a significant correlation between participants' perceptions of RE and RECs and their comprehension of ethical principles. These findings indicate that medical postgraduates with a deeper understanding or awareness of research ethics principles and RECs tend to hold more robust attitudes toward these aspects.

To explore the influencing factors of kinesiophobia and to establish a nomogram prediction model. ⋯ Family monthly income level, anesthesia methods, NRS, HSS, ADL, and SAS scores are influencing factors of kinesiophobia, and the nomogram model can be useful for predicting postoperative kinesiophobia.

To evaluate the Outcomes of Fenestration of Lamina Terminalis for Hydrocephalus following Clipping of Ruptured Aneurysms of Anterior Circulation. ⋯ Reducing the likelihood of shunt-dependent hydrocephalus after ruptured aneurysm clipping can be achieved using lamina terminalis fenestration, regardless of fisher grade. It assists in preventing excessive brain retraction, decreasing intracranial pressure, raising brain perfusion, cisternal blood cleansing, and lowering the need for a ventriculoperitoneal shunt in cases of persistent hydrocephalus. Consequently, to reduce the incidence of shunt-dependent hydrocephalus, we recommend routine lamina terminalis fenestration following anterior circulation aneurysm clipping.

To compare the efficacy of 0.05% cyclosporine A (CsA) eye drops (II) and 3% Diquafosol ophthalmic solution (DQS) in the treatment of dry eye (DE) after cataract surgery (CS). ⋯ Compared to the conventional treatment alone, the addition of 3% DQS or 0.05% CsA eye drops (II) to the conventional treatment both are effective and might more effectively alleviate DE in patients undergoing CS.
